Apani Energy Secures Field Development Plan Approval from NUPRC On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Apani Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Matrix Energy Group, achieved a significant milestone by securing Field Development Plan (FDP) approval for the Apani field from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) in Abuja. The approval was granted during a visit led by the Managing Director, Dr. Bukola Olusola, to the office of the Executive Commissioner for Development and Production, Engr. Enonrense Amadasu. This approval is a major step forward for Apani Energy Limited, allowing the company to begin the development of the Apani field and contribute to Nigeria's crude oil and gas production. Engr. Amadasu commended the company's determined approach to achieving this milestone and encouraged continued diligence, stressing the importance of timely field development. He also reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to supporting operators and addressing challenges such as rig availability by fostering long-term collaborations between operators and rig owners. Inadequate Crude Supply to Nigerian Refineries Hinders Development, Says CORAN Chairman The Chairman of the Crude Oil Refineries Owners Association of Nigeria, Mr. Momoh Oyarekhua, recently discussed the challenges faced by the local refinery owners in Nigeria during an appearance on the business morning program on Channels TV. Mr. Oyarekhua highlighted the obstacles encountered in the implementation of the Domestic Crude Supply Obligation (DCSO), where the association has been actively engaging with regulators to ensure the full implementation of the DCSO as stipulated by the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) in Sec 317. Notably, the recent operation of local refineries and the inclusion of Dangote refineries have led to a significant drop in the price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and massive employment in the country. Further support for local refineries will have a positive impact on the country’s economy.

Oman’s oil exports hit 230 million barrels MUSCAT: Oman’s oil exports reached 230.6 million barrels by the end of September 2024, accounting for 84.6% of the country’s total oil production of 272.4 million barrels. The average export price stood at $82.6 per barrel. Data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed a slight 0.1% increase in exports compared to the same period in 2023, despite a 5.1% drop in production year-on-year.
