Employers the final countdown to submitting P11D and P11D(b) reports on benefits in kind (BiK) to HMRC is just days away The deadline for the return date for P11D and P11D(b) for 2023-24 is Saturday 6 July (effectively Friday 5 July if you work Monday to Friday) Employers must submit a P11D(b) and corresponding P11D forms listing taxable benefits and expenses provided to employees, including cars and fuel, season tickets, health insurance, To calculate employer and employee National Insurance and benefit values, the P11D form must be filled out accurately and filed by 6 July following the relevant tax year. Taxable non-cash benefits that are not included in a director’s or employee’s payroll, have no tax or NIC collected and need to be reported to HMRC so the employer can pay any Class 1A NIC that arises, and the employee can pay any tax. Penalties There is also a penalty of £100 per 50 employees for each month or part month a P11D(b) is late. Penalties and interest can also be charged for late payment to HMRC.

You don't want to run out of your best seller, but you also don't want to have much stock of your worst sellers. The more stock you hold, the more of your money is sat in your shop or stockroom rather than being I your bank account, which has an impact on your cashflow. We made a regular client visit recently to the lovely Matthew Littlewood at ML Autos for his monthly in-house bookkeeping to keep on top of his finances and tax planning. In-house bookkeeping allows all records to stay on the premises for the clients convenience, whilst the regular contact allows me to really get to know the client and the business.
