I am noticing an alarming trend of #fakedevelopers in the #web3 space... Most often these so called "candidates" are staging their LinkedIn profile to be based in places like Ukraine or Serbia, they are using names (aliases) that would appear local to the region and often either dont have a profile picture or a cartoon picture. Upon engaging these candidates via a video meeting, often they wont turn on their camera and will insist their mic is broken and to type instead (Red Flag), if they do have their camera & mic on it is obvious that both in appearance and accent they likely are not being truthful about their true background / location. Upon asking simple questions about the local area they suggest they are based and they come under any scrutiny about their true identity they are either unable to provide answers or leave the meeting. Have you heard about Really Good Bitcoin (RGB)? RGB represents a scalable and confidential smart contract framework designed for use with Bitcoin and the Lightning Network. RGB smart contracts employ client-side validation, ensuring data privacy and scalability by storing information off-chain. Security is upheld through single-use seals, bolstering the integrity of contract transactions. The State of Blockchain in 2024 The UK is home to 546 active and dormant companies within the blockchain industry. As a relatively nascent sector, 60.4% of these companies are in the seed stage of development, 20.6% are in the venture stage, and just 3.00% are in the growth stage. These companies span various industries, with a majority (86.8%) developing application software. Additionally, 33.7% of blockchain companies are also involved in the fintech sector. The integration of blockchain technology with fintech is transforming the financial sector, leading to the emergence of new models for distributed financial transactions. This convergence facilitates the creation of innovative financial services that operate without traditional intermediaries. Collectively, companies operating in both blockchain and fintech have raised £1.70b in equity, with a significant £218m deal by Blockchain.com. Furthermore, 72 companies, or 13.2% of the UK’s blockchain ecosystem, are also engaged in the artificial intelligence (AI) industry. The integration of blockchain and AI represents a powerful combination, with each technology potentially enhancing the capabilities and security of the other.
