🚨 The Gender Pain Gap: A Wake-Up Call 🚨 Imagine this: a man and woman walk into the ER at the same time, both in pain. The man receives immediate pain relief, while the woman faces skepticism and a 30-minute delay. This isn’t just a scenario—it’s a reality revealed by a study analyzing 22,000 patient discharge notes. Key findings include:Women are less likely to receive necessary pain-relief treatments than men. Nurses are 10% less likely to record women's pain scores upon admission. Female patients’ pain intensity is often underrated by healthcare providers. Shockingly, both male and female physicians exhibit these biases.
