Thank you to Prospecting Dynamics for welcoming Michelle to attend the Automotive Leadership Network Winter Event hosted at the prestigious and famous filming location Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf & Spa (with free EV charging too) 🔋 🙌 The opportunity to hear from Kevin Sinfield and Barrie 🏉 McDermott gave a boost of courage to the room ahead of the following days important conversation around Automotive Industry challenges including government policy and how that affects business going forward. It was quite fitting to be in a room you could envisage Winston Churchill pondering over important decisions that would affect millions. Key takeaways included; ⚡️ OEM’s must be clear on their EV strategy - No mixed messaging please ❤️🩹 We can’t blame the customer - Negative headlines are damaging so we need to share the good news too especially around battery confidence and charging infrastructure improvements. 🐙 The growth in Octopus Electric Vehicles is happening for a reason and their used vehicle leasing option will make an EV more accessible. 📈 The future long-term outlook for price parity is bright. Growth in sales slowed yes, but sales are still GROWING. 💨 The global fleet is still not on track to reach net-zero by 2050 - action is needed now. 🇨🇳 There are more Chinese brands to come offering more choice and competition but also opportunities. 🚗 The used car market is healthy in 2024 overall. The increased EV supply with reduced ICE supply following less new cars registered through the pandemic means price parity more likely and in some cases an EV could be less 💰 🔋 Lovely to hear from Anita from Castriota Chevrolet in 🇺🇸 who shared how she powered her house in Florida from their EV truck when the power was down recently in the hurricanes. 🔌 VAT on public EV charging is unlikely to be changed in this fiscal period. Supported by the continued popularity of the Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric, the latest figures rank Vauxhall top of the sales charts in the combined B-segment. The popular Corsa Electric was once again listed as the best selling electric supermini in October, helping the model to rank top of its segment for sales year-to-date. Vauxhall achieved an electric car sales mix of 24.7% in October, whilst the brand also saw success with last month’s van sales, listing second in the overall LCV market year-to-date. James Taylor, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “Vauxhall is dedicated to making electric vehicles accessible to all, ensuring that every model in our line-up will have an electric variant by year-end. As a leader among retail and Motability customers, our Corsa Electric and Mokka Electric models continue to attract drivers across the country. “The introduction of the New Frontera also marks a first in offering both electric and petrol hybrid options at the same price, a milestone in our mission in achieving accessible electric mobility.”

Oh - what do we have here? We had a sneaky look over the Skywell BE11 at Fleet & Mobility Live recently and it was great to speak with Liam Campbell who shared their ambitious plans for the future, being a new UK market entrant. We first saw this car at FullyCharged.SHOW & Everything Electric in Harrogate at its UK reveal. The price tag and specification look set to impress! They added “The electric MINI raises more of a grin than its rivals,” 🗣️ Interesting words that remind us that car driving can be so much fun! ⚡️Now for some great news! Suzuki Motor Corporation has unveiled its first mass-production battery electric vehicle (BEV) model - the e VITARA in Milan, Italy. They have told us … Production will commence at Suzuki Motor Gujarat in India in spring 2025 with sales expected to begin in various countries including Europe, India and Japan around summer 2025. The e VITARA is based on the concept model eVX which was showcased at the Auto Expo held in India in January 2023 and at the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW in October of the same year. It marks Suzuki's first global strategic BEV model. With the concept of Emotional Versatile Cruiser, the e VITARA features a design that combines a sense of advanced technology and strength, a BEV powertrain that delivers a nimble and sharp driving experience, an electric 4WD system ALLGRIP-e that provides not only off-road capability but also powerful performance, and a newly developed platform HEARTECT-e specifically for BEVs. The President of Suzuki said “The e VITARA is our first BEV, developed through repeated trial and error to create an easy-to-use BEV for our customers. In order to realize a carbon- neutral society, we will provide a variety of options, including BEVs, hybrid vehicles, and CNG vehicles, tailored to specific regions. Introduction of the e VITARA represents a significant milestone in achieving carbon neutrality.
