Supporting women's movements to change the world.
About us
- 1 in 3 women experience violence, with domestic violence the most common - Globally, women make up just 23% of parliamentarians - Women spend at least twice as much time as men on domestic work, and when all work - paid and unpaid - is considered, women work longer hours than men We are working to change this. Womankind Worldwide is a global women’s rights organisation working in partnership with women’s rights organisations and movements to transform the lives of women and girls. We believe in the power of women to change their own lives. Together with women’s rights organisations and movements, we work towards… • An end to all forms of violence against women and girls • Women’s economic rights and control over resources • Women’s equal influence in decision making and ability to exercise political power. Womankind strengthens and supports women’s rights organisations and movements by providing the tools and resources they need to change the lives of women, in the home, the workplace and the communities they live in. We build successful projects, amplify women’s voices and share what’s working. We also take collective action with women’s movements at international level.

Femicide- a global pandemic continues to be a national crisis in Kenya! We join our partners, allies and the international community in unequivocally condemning the rise of this scourge. The experience of Tech Facilitated GBV isn’t uniform; it’s shaped by intersecting identities, like race, sexuality, and disability, which amplify the effects and risks. For young women and girls from marginalised backgrounds, the impact of cyberbullying often goes beyond simple harassment, targeting appearance, culture, and ethnicity through derogatory and stereotypical messages. A shoutout to Francoise Moudouthe from African Women's Development Fund (AWDF) for reminding us that partnerships are important and key to the women's rights movements!! We can never be equally responsive and impactful in all areas so we will need more feminist partnerships in philanthropy and beyond 💜 #AWIDForum2024
