Here is what is expected of employers under the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005: ✅ Carry out a risk assessment of exposure to noise at work for employees. ✅ Take appropriate action to reduce exposure to noise at work for employees. ✅ Provide hearing protection for employees if noise cannot be avoided or controlled by other means. ✅ Make sure the legal noise limits set out in the Regulations are not exceeded. ✅ Provide employees with information, instruction and training in relation to noise at work. ✅ Carry out health surveillance where a risk to health has been found. It’s not only employers that have a legal duty under the Regulations, employees have responsibilities too. These include: ☑ Following any instructions and taking note of any information and training given by the employer in relation to minimising exposure to noise. ☑ Wearing any personal protective equipment provided by the employer, which protects against exposure to noise at work. ☑ Reporting any defects in machinery or equipment that is causing increased noise. #Noise #HealthandSafety #NoiseSafety #EarProtection #Construction #SafetyFirst
