  • Last week at Weetabix, we put the spotlight on Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, opening up important conversations about mental well-being. Our Men’s Mental Health Stand was a chance for colleagues to pause, grab a brew (and a biscuit!), and chat about a topic that doesn’t always get the attention it deserves. With the support of our D&I team and Mental Health First Aiders, we reminded everyone that it’s okay to talk – and even better to listen. At Weetabix, we’re proud to back initiatives that support our people, not just in November, but all year round. A big thank you to everyone who joined the conversation. Let’s keep the kettle on and the discussions flowing – mental health matters every day. 💙 #MensMentalHealth #LetsTalk #WeetabixDifference

Huge thanks to Duncan and Stuart for hosting the Weetabix Pioneer Group at Bottom Farm. The freezing temperature couldn't dampen the enthusiastic conversations and insights. Always inspiring to meet up with such a forward thinking group of farmers and listen to the diverse perspectives on the future of British agriculture.

Yesterday Stuart Tabernor and I hosted Weetabix Pioneer Group to the farm to discuss with fellow farmers and those in the industry keen to find solutions to help produce more sustainable food for all. The group is looking at growing quality wheat with a lower carbon footprint, mainly from reducing the amount of synthetic nitrogen used. At Bottom Farm we are trying to achieve a 20% reduction in nitrogen by a combination of different biological solutions, precision agriculture and regenerative solutions that we have been practicing thorough our LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) principles. Despite the cold November day, the conversation and discussion of ideas were were flowing, with some fascinating results data from field trials in the group presented by Hugh Martineau, Duncan Rawson, James Croskell, Mark Tucker. As with all such trials and ideas, the weather has by far the biggest effect on success. Simply lowering crop nutrition alone does not bring the desired results sustainably or economically. Even a little robin though it was interesting enough to join the conversation, or may be he was just hoping to get a grain or two of wheat from us as we sheltered in the barn.
