📱 With Gen Z soon making up 27% of the workforce, adapting training to fit their mobile-first learning style isn't just a "nice-to-have"—it's essential. Chris Fletcher & Jules Smith, Co-Founder of Blend. discuss this in the latest Tech on Toast podcast episode. Blend is an amazing solution which brings the excitement of TikTok to workplace training with fast, fun, video-based, and mobile-first content designed for the modern workforce. They discussed how on-the-go, user-generated training content is transforming hospitality training and how it's time to say goodbye to overwhelming one-time onboarding (who else followed their manager around for a week as their training? 😄) and hello to content that’s accessible anytime, anywhere... 💡 Key points covered: 💥 The shift to short-form, mobile-first training. 💥 Embracing familiar platforms like TikTok and YouTube to teach new skills. 💥 How Blend is helping operators save time, cut costs, and improve learning retention. If you’re curious about creating inclusive, effective training solutions for your team, check out the full episode: https://lnkd.in/eCUPJKjC

Tech On Toast are blending... are you? 😎
🎙️ The latest Tech on Toast episode has dropped, and it’s all about empowering the next generation of workers! By 2025 (yep, just around the corner 👀), Gen Z will make up 27% of our workforce. Their expectations are shaking up the way we train and engage teams and we’d be missing the mark if we didn’t adapt our teaching methods to align with their mobile-first ways of learning. The time to act is now... literally 😄 I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with Jules Smith, co-founder of Blend., who’s at the forefront of revolutionising training. Designing solutions that meet the needs of a new generation. If you’re in hospitality and curious about mobile-first training solutions add this one to your playlist! Here are some of my key takeaways: 1️⃣ The Blend Approach Jules and her team draw from their hospitality backgrounds to create engaging, on-the-go training solutions that work for today’s employees. 2️⃣ User-Generated Content Discover how authentic, user-created training materials can transform learning experiences, leaving outdated methods in the dust - no more following the manager around for a week! 💤 3️⃣ Future Innovations Get a sneak peek at what’s next for Blend, from customisable learning pathways to global content integration. 4️⃣ Real-World Impact Find out how Blend is already driving tangible results, like cutting training costs and boosting efficiency for their clients. People rightly complain about VCs not investing in founders who don't fit narrow stereotypes of what makes a good founder. But VCs have to deliver suitable returns to their own investors, so you can see why they'd often play it safe and pick the Oxbridge or Ivy League white dudes who come with all the advantages that gives them in life. VCs who *really* push against that in a consistent way are few and far between, but Francesca (Check) Warner and the firm she co-founded, Ada Ventures, have made it their core approach and mission. They've invested in around 50 early-stage startups so far, with a focus on inclusivity and diversity in founding teams. That includes startups I've profiled at PreSeed Now such as PHINXT Robotics, HACE, Blend., and Radiant Matter. I had a really interesting conversation with Check about her approach to investing.
