We had a merry Christmas party in our Glasgow office on Friday. 🎅🥳 After department lunches, our team came together for a shared celebration to round off a year of growth and rebranding. 🙌 Highlights of the festivities included a caricaturist, face painter, photo booth, sweetie cart, DJ and karaoke. Catherine McManus drew the biggest crowd with her rendition of Kings of Leon's Sex on Fire. 👩🎤 Even Santa (Mark Mulholland) made an appearance to deliver Secret Santa presents. 🎄🎁 A big thank you to Martha Cleary, Scott Grant and Jeanie Devlin for organising a fantastic event. 👏

The latest Scottish Budget brings some good news for the hospitality sector, but sees unchanged rates for taxpayers. 💬 Shehzad Ashaq, Associate Partner in Tax, at Wbg, comments: “While the measures announced by Finance Secretary Shona Robison address some immediate concerns for Scotland’s hospitality sector, the lack of tax changes leaves many businesses still facing higher costs compared to those south of the border. Rising costs are placing unprecedented pressure on Scottish SMEs, with disparities in support compared to counterparts in England. 📊 💬 Neil Fraser, Associate Partner, comments: "With 40% business rates relief for the retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors being extended in England, the Scottish Government should consider passing on some form of comparable relief to businesses in Scotland.
