We are still over the moon from last night’s win! 🥳🏆 Haven't heard the news? We were crowned the Most Improved Council in the UK at the Local Government Chronicle (LGC) Awards! This is a massive achievement that reflects the incredible progress our borough has made in recent years. Huge thanks to our dedicated staff, elected members, and partners – you made this possible! 👏 A key driver of this success has been the expansion of digital services. ❤ Just in time for Christmas ❤ This week we’ve been able to distribute hundreds of Christmas gifts for children and young people, thanks to the generosity of local businesses. We launched an appeal at the start of December following a vehicle fire that damaged gifts beyond repair, and businesses in the community have supported us in recovering all the gifts we lost in the fire and more. The gifts will go to vulnerable families in Walsall this Christmas time. Thank you to everybody who has supported us with the appeal. Listen to a couple of the businesses who’ve donated to the appeal and why. ⬇️

🎄 It's a Christmas miracle! 🎄 Businesses in Walsall have come together to recover over £4,000 worth of Christmas gifts for children and young people after a vehicle fire destroyed the original donations. We are absolutely blown away by the generosity and support from our local businesses. Thanks to these donations, we've not only replaced all the lost gifts but have even more to share! Your kindness has put smiles on many faces this festive season, and we can now support even more vulnerable families this Christmas. Thank you from everyone here at Walsall Council. This appeal has truly shown the incredible community spirit in our borough. 🎁✨

Last week we welcomed stakeholders and delivery partners to visit the Bloxwich Launchpad site. The former post office on Market Place in Bloxwich is being refurbished and extended, to make way for a state-of-the-art facility for residents to learn and hone their digital skills, and for entrepreneurs to form and grow their businesses. The new centre is due to open in Spring 2025. 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/e-u5_CzC
