A quick recap on my experience at EthSafari. The journey started when I got the notification about the event from a fellow founder about the event happening in Nairobi. Five days before the event I bought the event and flight tickets, and applied for the Kenya e-visa which was super easy and straightforward. I got a response from Kenya Immigration in about 2 days after which I started preparing to take off the following Monday. On landing in Nairobi, the first event I attended was the Celo Foundation gather event organized by the Celo Africa DAO. That was the first time I connected with Markus F. of Mento Labs and also learnt about the local adoption and use of #cKes in the city. At the end of the event, I connected with Daniel Kimotho and other leads from the DAO. The next day we embarked on a trip to the coastal town of #Kilifi by train through #Mombasa where I connected with Stanslaus M. Brave country’s ambassador, Chidi, Sarah wahinya and Opeyemi. The EthSafari events kicked off the next day and the experience was filled with a lot of eye opening events from Crisis Management to VC funding in Africa with Alex Witt, CFA , to local adoption of stablecoin in Africa. It was just awesome. Some key takeaways from the main and side events will be; Africa is already taking the lead in adoption of stablecoin like cKES for things like paying for goods with Pretium Finance and services with Utoken. I look forward to the next #EthSafari2025 to withnesss the future of Africa powered by blockchain. Till then let’s keep building 🚀🥂.
