A well-deserved celebration… 🥂 This week, the USTAXFS UK team took a well-earned pause to celebrate the end of another successful year. After wrapping up the final US tax deadline of 2024, we got together for a festive meal at the Refinery in Holborn, with lots of laughter, stories, and toasts to our collective achievements. True to our love of history, we ended the evening at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese, one of London’s oldest pubs. It’s fitting as we look ahead to 2025 when we’ll be moving to our own piece of London’s history - a new office space in a beautiful, historic building. Watch this space to hear more about our forthcoming move! In the meantime, here’s to the team, the journey so far, and an exciting year ahead. Well done, everyone! #USTAXFS

Update for all entities formed or registered to do business in the US A recent court ruling has suspended the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) enforcement deadline, initially requiring entities to report their Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) to the Treasury Department by January 1, 2025. The court found the CTA may exceed constitutional limits, questioning Congress' authority to enact it. As a result, a preliminary injunction has suspended the enforcement of the reporting requirements. What does this mean for businesses? ▶️ Reporting is currently not mandatory while the preliminary injunction is in effect. ▶️ The situation remains uncertain as the decision is under appeal, and the reporting rule could be reinstated. ▶️ Businesses should remain prepared to act quickly if the injunction is overturned. For further insights and what this means for your compliance obligations, read Gregory Dean’s detailed article here https://lnkd.in/dQPANS8a #USTAXFS #USTax #CTA #TaxCompliance

We searched for the Holy Grail and Survived Chernobyl… All in Bern, Switzerland! Last week, to mark the start of the festive season, our teams from the Geneva and Zurich offices came together in Bern for a fun (and challenging!) Adventure Rooms experience. Four teams worked against the clock, attempting puzzles and testing their problem-solving skills to escape their rooms in under 30 minutes. It was a great way to build teamwork and collaboration while enjoying some friendly competition! Afterwards, we kept the festive spirit alive with a holiday lunch, with lots of laughter and good food. Thanks to the team for a memorable day! #USTAXFS #teambuilding
