Independent property consultancy for the performance of buildings and the wellbeing of people.

About us

TFT is an independent commercial building consultancy which places the performance of buildings and the wellbeing of people at the heart of its work. We provide development, built assets, engineering and sustainability advice to commercial property investors, developers, owners and occupiers. At every stage we are focussed on improving the resilience and value of buildings, applying independent and specialist advice uncompromised by commercial conflicts. We have been in business since 1973, growing our firm off the back of long-term client relationships and trusted advice. Our continued success is built on a tight-knit and collaborative team, which thrives in a culture of shared learning, development and improvement. Having launched our Redefining Building Performance research in 2021, TFT identified a gap: our industry holds ambitions for more healthy, sustainable and flexible assets, but is not taking the right steps to achieve them. Combining our findings with our in-house knowledge, we help our clients and wider industry to close that gap with better measurement and closer collaboration across the building lifecycle. Our work covers the UK and Europe too. TFT has offices in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Dublin, Edinburgh, Guildford, Leeds, London, Manchester and Southampton.

We're signing off until January with a huge thank you to our team, our clients and all those who have worked with us this year.    At this time of the year, we're keen to highlight LandAid's work. Their new Every Minute Matters campaign tackles a shocking statistic: a young person in the UK becomes homeless every four minutes. What's more, that figure doesn't count thousands who go uncounted due to sleeping in unsafe accommodation, on friends' sofas, or on the streets.    For those who are able and interested in supporting, you can find out more about LandAid's work and get involved here - https://lnkd.in/eUAqmwex   From all of us at TFT, we hope you have a well-deserved break over the festive period. See you in the New Year!

Another step closer to being 'Resi for the future'! More than 120 guests joined us to discuss the challenges and opportunities for improving building safety, adding value with recladding + refurbishment projects, and investing in resilient residential assets. Three enlightening panel sessions took us from the nuances of legislation and technical issues, into practical project scenarios and big picture thinking. A connecting thread was the value of collaboration and early engagement with diverse teams to address the interconnected challenges of safety, sustainability and value, in the right way. Many thanks to our panellists for joining us at the fabulous RSA House, and to our friends at Amamus for providing delicious coffee which helps farmers around the world prosper from their crop. 🏃♀️ Want to catch up on any sessions you missed? 🙋♂️ Just thought of a great question to put to our panellists? ✍ Never fear - contact us on [email protected] and let us know. See you at the next one!
