  • Toyota named Manufacturer of the Year at the 2024 TopGear.com Awards! The leading automotive website and magazine recognised Toyota for the “excitement and ambition” it brings to its products while being one of the world’s largest car makers, and for its wide-ranging commitment to motor sport. Ollie Marriage, TopGear.com’s Head of Car Testing, said: “This award isn’t about size or scale, it’s about excitement and ambition. That’s relatively easy to achieve in a single car, much more difficult to achieve across a range.” #Toyota #Automotive #Award

  • Compact, agile and exceptionally efficient, the Toyota Yaris Cross has been honoured with the Urban Living Award in the 2025 Carwow Car of the Year Awards. Announced today, the award is independent recognition of the all-round excellence of the all-hybrid compact SUV range. There was further success for Toyota with “highly commended” honours for the all-new Land Cruiser in the Adventurer’s Choice category; GR Yaris performance hatchback in the Pleasure of Driving class; and Proace City compact van in the Van of the Year award classification. Mat Watson, Carwow expert, said: “If you want something small, economical and nippy enough to dart about in heavy traffic, look no further than the Toyota Yaris Cross. The raised driving position means you have a clear view of the road ahead and the small dimensions make navigating tight streets a stress-free experience. The icing on the cake is the hybrid engine, which is effortlessly economical.” #Toyota #Automotive #Hybrid #SUV #Award

  • Britain’s Uber drivers have quickly seized the opportunity to own and run Toyota’s all-electric bZ4X SUV following the launch of a new partnership between the manufacturer and the leading transportation and ride-hailing business. In little more than 10 weeks, orders have been placed for more than 1,000 bZ4X, along with other Toyota and Lexus battery electric vehicles. In addition to individual owner-drivers, Toyota’s fleet partners have secured hundreds of sales linked to the new Uber Driver Scheme. Toyota (GB) and Toyota Financial Services have developed a new vehicle financing product specifically for Uber owner-drivers to acquire a new Toyota or Lexus BEV through Toyota or Lexus Hire Purchase with 0% APR representative, over a term of up to 60 months. The Toyota bZ4X addresses the principal requirements of Uber owner-drivers, not least in strong reliability and lasting, hard-wearing quality, mile after mile, day after day. There is also the peace of mind provided by Toyota’s industry-leading warranty of up to 10 years or 100,000 miles and specific cover for the electric vehicle battery, which is guaranteed to retain a minimum 70 per cent of capacity for up to 10 years or 620,000 miles. #Toyota #Automotive #BEV #Company #Fleet

  • Scott Thompson, Toyota (GB) President and Managing Director, has become a patron of the Automotive 30% Club. Founded in 2016, the club is a voluntary network of leaders and executives from UK-based automotive manufacturing, retailing and supplier companies who share best practices on how to achieve a better gender balance and increase female representation in senior management positions. It organises digital meetings, workshops and campaigns and promotes a “30 by 30” strategy, aiming for women to fill 30 per cent of the leadership roles at member organisations by 2030. Thompson said: “I am delighted to represent Toyota as a founding patron and member of the 30% Automotive Club; championing diversity and inclusion is close to my heart as well as being really important to everyone at TGB. “As a company, we are proud to have been a part of this club from the outset and harness its values and ambitions to further drive our cultural and people-focused journey. Together, as club members, we can have a greater collective impact by continuing to focus on the attractiveness of our industry, how we increase the gender balance and create inclusive workplaces where everyone thrives. “As an industry, we should aspire to attract talented people reflective of our broad customer base and encourage open-minded and broad thinking to meet the transformational change happening in the automotive industry. We need to attract and retain the best talent and create the environment where everyone is seen, heard, and developed to their full potential.” #Toyota #Automotive #Culture
