It’s International Day of Happiness! In the spirit of spreading positivity, we thought we’d share some top tips for boosting your mood and nurturing happiness: 🏃Exercise is well-known for releasing endorphins and improving mood. This doesn’t have to be anything complicated or time consuming; even a simple ten minute walk has been proven to reduce stress hormones. 🎶Playing music can reduce anxiety, reduce stress, and even promote healthy brain function! Having the radio or a music streaming service playing while you work has even been proven to improve focus. 🌳With more of us working from home than ever before, fewer of us are spending time in natural environments. Being outside in nature is widely-proven to improve mood and lower the risk of mental health symptoms. Spending time in the sun also increases the production of “happy hormones," such as serotonin and endorphins. 🧑🤝🧑If you’re feeling sad or stressed, being around a loved one can go a long way towards lifting your spirits. Whether it’s a five minute chat with a friend, or watching a movie with your partner, connecting with your favourite person is a great way to improve your mood. With this year’s International Day of Happiness theme being ‘Happier Together’, today is a great opportunity to reach out and spend time with the people you love. #internationaldayofhappiness #happymindset #celebratejoy

This week is National Sign Language week! This week is celebrated to coincide with the anniversary of British sign language being recognised by the British government. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Promoting British Sign Language’, which aims to inspire more people to learn sign language. British sign language has significantly improved the lives of thousands of deaf people, and by taking the time to learn some basic signs, you could help to ensure no deaf person feels excluded. Our online training courses are a great resource for understanding deafness and learning basic signs. Our Basic Sign Language for Early Years course explores the importance of teaching sign language to children, which is ideal for all early years practitioners - https://lnkd.in/e-xa5Dyi We also have a Deafness for Adult Care course, which informs carers how to support people with hearing difficulties and deafness - https://lnkd.in/eZyVyBv9 #signlanguageweek #britishsignlanguage #inclusion #onlinecourses #learning #onlinelearning #facetoface #training #trainingcourses

On Friday, we attended and sponsored the Manchester Foster Carers Celebration and Awards, an event organised by Manchester City Council to commemorate the amazing work of our local foster carers. The ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the exceptional contributions that foster carers make. As well as recognising the dedication of Manchester’s foster carers, the ceremony also presented awards for lifetime achievements, and short break carers that had made a significant impact. We were delighted to attend the event and to be able to support such an important cause. Congratulations to all of the incredible award winners!
