  • “SLC have skilfully supported Gloucester City Council through the last few years, helping us secure the long-term future of our leisure services. They have been brilliant to work with and been exceptionally clear, patient and knowledgeable throughout. SLC completed an initial options appraisal, helped us secure an interim provider under emergency procurement rules and supported our main leisure services procurement process. The way in which they combined the complex requirements of all three commissioning partners into one set of tender documentation has allowed us to create a much more efficient delivery model for our leisure services.” Jon McGinty, Managing Director of Gloucester City Council. https://lnkd.in/gsZd7DAA

  • Sheffield City Council has announced SLM (Everyone Active) will be the new operator of its sport and leisure venues for 15 years from January 2025. SLC has been working alongside the Council since 2017 on a work programme which has ultimately led to the Council's decision to award SLM one of the largest leisure contracts in the country.   Our long working relationship with Sheffield City Council has encompassed a review of its leisure portfolio, development of a strategy and business case for £117m of investment across sport, leisure and entertainment venues. It included the co-production of a Sport and Leisure Strategy for the City and the procurement of this new sport and leisure management contract. We are confident that the work undertaken by the Council and its partners to get to this point will transform facilities and services across the City and help improve the lives of Sheffield residents for years to come.   Anna Dalton, Director who led the procurement exercise for SLC said,” We are delighted to have been a part of supporting the Council with this journey to continue its proud heritage as the City of Sport and to improve the health and wellbeing of its residents.” https://lnkd.in/ecv52Eyf

  • It's been a real pleasure hosting Max Grinham - a student at Brighton, Hove & Sussex Sixth Form College for his work experience last week. Reflecting on his week with SLC, Max said; "I always assumed work experience was a week of printing and doing tea and coffee runs, but my week at SLC could not be further from that. Throughout the week I was entrusted to work on various projects that would positively impact on communities for years to come, making the work enjoyable and worthwhile. The team were amazing and were available to provide assistance when needed. They always checked on me to make sure I was not going too long without a break." Well done Max and an exciting career awaits you in the future!
