Enpowering the nation to sleep better through advice, support and training
About us
We are an award-winning charity helping the nation to get a good night’s sleep to support their mental and physical health and wellbeing. We provide practical advice and support and are constantly raising awareness about the importance of sleep and campaigning for change so that sleep support is accessible to all. Our 'The Wake Up Call' sleep manifesto was launched in March 2020 to more than 100 people at Westminster. We also offer accredited training for professionals, support for families and packages for corporate organisations. All our work is based on the latest research and is evidence based. We believe in sharing sleep knowledge widely so that those having sleep issues are empowered to make the changes that they want to make. In July 2020, we joined forces with The Sleep Council (a not for profit organisation) to offer more support to the nation with the aim to becoming the leading, independent expert voice on sleep issues in the UK and beyond.

It was a MERRY CHRISTMAS at The Sleep Charity yesterday. We love our team get-togethers - so much fun, creativity and lots of laughs. We found out we're not so good at murder mysteries but excel in the After Eight chocolate challenge (and that's a skill!). The day was rounded off with some questionable dancing before heading home 😂. We have some great plans for 2025, so keep following...

Thank you for the post and for all the support.
Driving for Better Business, a National Highways programme supporting employers in managing their road risk.
Last week, Sharon Mitchell and I had the privilege of joining The Sleep Charity at the House of Commons for Afternoon Tea. The event was hosted by Jim Shannon MP and highlighted their campaign dedicated to raising awareness of the crucial role that sleep has in enhancing health and safety in the workplace. Thank you to Vicki Beevers, Lisa Artis and the rest of the Sleep Charity team for inviting us to be part of such an important and impactful event. We heard from experts about the profound impact that sleep has on our wellbeing, both personally and professionally. It was inspiring to hear from experts who emphasised the critical issue of fatigue and its effect on driving, particularly for those who drive for work – ‘one in six collisions resulting in death and injury on motorways and A roads are fatigue related’ and ‘less than 5 hours sleep doubles driving incident risks’. We wholeheartedly support The Sleep Charity’s efforts to raise awareness about this vital issue which aligns with our ambition at Driving for Better Business to bring about a radical change in how organisations think about work-related road risk. We encourage others to learn more about their work and consider signing up to the Sleep Charter to make a meaningful difference. Together, we can champion the importance of sleep and its role in creating safer, healthier environments for all. 🚗 To support The Sleep Charter, any organisation that wants to prioritise its staff’s sleep can sign up below and start considering the following: 😴 How to tackle fatigue and sleep deprivation in the workplace 🌟 Adopting a cultural change within your business 🚛 Start taking appropriate responsibility for your employees health and wellbeing 📝 Create a ‘SSS’- a Staff Sleep Strategy 🛌 Ensure that employees have access to sleep education Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eNgpBwiz On a personal note, as a *tired* working mum to two small children, I admire the work that Vicki Beevers and her team do and the valuable impact they're having. It was very inspiring to hear Vicki's story about how she turned her own struggles with fatigue as a parent into something positive for others. Well done and thank you 🙏

The Sleep Charity reposted this
The Sleep Crisis series I began with DOZE AND DIE now includes an excellent sequel! 💊 OVERDOZED by Karl Opus. Karl has created a chilling fiction about counterfeit ‘sleep aids’ laced with a deadly synthetic opioid. It’s a thriller that explores trust and betrayal, resilience and despair. You’ll meet new characters and you might recognise one from DOZE AND DIE. I thoroughly recommend it as an inexpensive Christmas present. Why not buy the set? A proportion of proceeds are donated to the British Society of Pharmacy Sleep Services (BSPSS) and also to the The Sleep Charity Superb cover by Frank Prendergast OVERDOZED (Sleep crisis series Book 2) https://amzn.eu/d/8uMm75q #SleepAwareness #SleepDisorders
