Supporting Businesses in the East Riding & Humber area with Apprenticeship recruitment & training

💫 Ok I PROMISE this is my last post of 2024...or is it? I have spent some time this week catching up with some of our employer partners and I have had some great feedback. 💥 One employer I would like to focus on is Helmed | Paid Advertising Specialists Across All Channels based in my hometown of Bridlington. Helmed currently have an apprentice with East Riding College called Lexi who is studying on the Level Three Content Creator Apprenticeship standard. This is a great programme to offer as digital content is everywhere we look in the modern world and it is becoming ever so important for businesses to have an online presence. The nature of the standard is appealing to businesses like Helmed and to candidates who want to work within the digital media sector. Kitty Fox-Norris who is Head of Digital at Helmed discussed some of the benefits of the scheme: "I would say the largest benefit of the apprenticeship scheme to us as an employer, is the ability to bring fresh talent into the business and help them grow and develop with the agency. Being able to tailor training around our specific business needs is a huge benefit to us and the apprentice as they’re learning the exact skills they need to have a successful and rewarding career in this industry and fingers crossed with Helmed! Another advantage we’ve found as an agency is bringing a fresh perspective for content creation. Lexie has brought some great new ideas to the company specifically in relation to our own organic socials, particularly TikTok, which we’re very excited about. It’s definitely helped us widen our net for employees in order to diversify our workforce, but has also allowed us to bring in talent from our local community as well!" Lexi our apprentice also added: "The advantages of the apprenticeship here at Helmed is the support I get from all of my colleagues and college staff I work with. There are always new opportunities for me to learn something else and in the short time I have worked here I already feel so much more confident and experienced. It really is a great opportunity to work here and definitely comes with a lot of advantages. This course has really helped me become experienced in all sectors of marketing and I definitely feel confident in what I have learnt such as Ads, content, emails, SMS and I still have more to learn." 👏 I could not of said this better myself, the benefits of an apprenticeship are clear. We deliver this programme with a flexible approach with no requirement for the apprentice to attend college and we can support with the recruitment of suitable candidates. Please drop me a message if you are interested. Pictured below is Lexi and Kitty from Helmed, thank you for the fantastic support and I look forward to continue the journey with you again in the new year. A great end to 2024, stay tuned for more as we go into 2025 😊 TEC Apprenticeships TEC Partnership #Apprenticeships #ContentCreator #Bridlington

💥 Hold up 2024 I'm not done with you just yet...yes it's me again with some more great news! This time I am celebrating the success of Amber Hill who has passed her end point assessment with a distinction which is fantastic! Amber is employed by BioteCH4 and is based at their Changing Waste facility in Spaldington, Howden in Yorkshire. Amber has been studying towards the Level Two Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship standard and successfully met all of the essential criteria thanks to great support within her workplace and from East Riding College. The benefit of choosing an apprenticeship scheme is not only to develop your attributes & skills which are recognised in the workplace, but also to grow as an individual which Amber touches on here: "“I enjoyed my apprenticeship because it helped me to learn more about our company and what we do here at Changing Waste. The apprenticeship pushed me to ask the questions that have taught me what my company does, it has been fun and eye-opening to learn new things that I didn’t know before. I have also learnt more about myself and developed my skills which will stick with me for years to come.” Amber's line manager Rebecca Turnbull also had this to say about her experiences of the apprenticeship scheme for an employers point of view: "We are really proud of what Amber has achieved throughout her apprenticeship here at Changing Waste. Her dedication to her college work as well as in the office has been second to none and her distinction mark just proves this!" I love hearing feedback like this as it summarises exactly what the apprenticeship scheme was created to do and makes my job really enjoyable and rewarding too! A huge congratulations to Amber and BioteCH4 for this success and thank you for choosing to work with us. Pictured below is Amber Hill and her line manager Rebecca Turnbull. Finally, we had small updates from other members of the team before John Cowdroy finished the festivities with games and Christmas quizzes. • A huge congratulations to Brad Velia, Connor Clarke, and Dan Parsonage from Premier Modular and James French, Chalie Littlewood, and Jodie Powell from ABI (UK) Limited, who recently passed their end-point assessments! 🎉 These apprentices have been studying towards the Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship standard, attending weekly sessions at East Riding College Beverley, and have successfully met all of the desired outcomes during their training.

  • The End-point Assessment (EPA) marks the final milestone in your apprentice’s journey!   It’s a key step in proving they’ve mastered the skills and knowledge required for their role.   The EPA is a structured assessment, designed to evaluate your apprentice’s abilities in a fair and unbiased manner. It's an opportunity to showcase their competence and readiness for the next stage of their career.   Your apprenticeship provider will ensure your apprentice is fully prepared for the EPA and support you as the employer every step of the way. #EndPointAssessment #Apprenticeship
