Because the oversupply of #sugar is an issue for public health - and the use of #neonicotinoids in the farming of sugar beet poses a threat to wildlife and soils - we've signed a joint letter in solidarity with Feedback and partners. #SoilHealth #Sustainability
📝 We’ve signed a joint letter alongside 14 other health, environment and wildlife organisations, calling on the government to take urgent action to reduce the UK’s oversupply of sugar, which is nearly three times greater than the total needed to meet the entire population’s maximum daily intake. Tackling sugar supply is a key blind spot in the government’s plans to build an NHS fit for the future and prevent some of the millions of pounds worth of costs caused by diet-related ill health every year. As #COP16 comes to a close, we've still got our eye on how soils support the #SDGs, with a spotlight on how they play a role in partnerships for the goals. Soils provide common ground for global partnerships for sustainable land use which share knowledge on soil health, and mobilise resources to combat climate change and land degradation. #GlobalPartners #SDG17 #COP16 #Soils #COP16Riyadh

This year’s theme of caring for soils is one we support 110% - and we couldn’t agree more on the importance of measurement. With this #WorldSoilDay theme focused on measurement, we think it's high time soil measurement & interpretation became the 6th regen principle. #Measure #Monitor #Manage #Regenerative
