This week was a really busy one for TeamSurrey Event Professionals We had the absolute honour as event partner working on Surrey County Council’s fabulous Surrey Festival of Skills for the second year! The event this year held at Surrey Sports Park saw: 👨🎓Well over 2,000 student attendees from School schools and home learners 📈Over 70 leading businesses from across and neighbouring Surrey 📝 And receiving already numerous emails of thanks from both exhibitors and attendees! Among the many highlights for me was the car from McLaren Automotive Ltd, the animals from Activate Learning and seeing so many friends and familiar faces from Holiday Inn Guildford Lamplight Media Ltd Surrey Chambers of Commerce RSM Manor Collection The Eaves Counselling and Psychology GW Osteopathy & Sports Therapy Surrey University of Surrey and many more. Like all events of this magnitude it’s a complete team effort, so thank you: 🎉 Jack Kennedy & Sarah Randall, MIED from SCC for allowing us to co run this event with you. 🎉 To my management support team on the day Brodie McHallam, Ryan Soper and his security team 🎉 And finally the biggest thank you to my fellow organiser of the event. The one that kept it all together Hannah Sheppard, as it simply wouldn’t be the success it was or run as smoothly, without you and the team Roll on next year!!

Another great event industry meet up last night, for Surrey Event Professionals! Thank you to the fabulous team from THE TIPSY PIGS LIMITED, James Farmer and Carla Williams, as Seasons Cafe, next to Guildford Cathedral for hosting and your kind hospitality, as ever (& the cakes went down a treat!!) During the meeting attendees shared ideas, new services and directions, found solutions for business issues and expanded their network. Some nice new faces too. It was great to hear so much positive feedback and link ups already from this. Thanks to all who attended, some mentioned in the comments below. Look forward to seeing you all again and others at our next meeting Wed 6th November from 10:00-12:30 at Holiday Inn Guildford. Details and links also in the comments. Recently I've been asked about Surrey Event Professionals (SEP) aim and who we are after, so thought I'd briefly share, followed by a BIG ASK. I simply set up SEP with the sole aim to support fellow event, wedding and venue businesses covering my core area of Surrey. We hopefully do this by: 👫 CONNECTING & EXPANDING your network The aim to offer a regular event in which people from our industry can connect, grow their connections and find out more of what fellow businesses offer. 📣 MARKETING & SHOWCASING your business The aim to create some useful marketing streams for members, online (inc new website coming soon), socials, in person at events, link ups & member recommendations. 🤝 SUPPORTING & EDUCATING your business The aim is to create a supportive community of fellow event businesses that mutually support each other. Offer useful talks, discussions and learnings along with guidance from fellow members. From feedback from our members and visitors, we are achieving this, but are still are ever evolving, learning, development from feedback, but excited about our every growing community and partnerships. I've in no way achieved this alone and like any organisation or collective it's a complete team effort.
