  • As Honda and Nissan explore a potential merger, what does this mean for UK manufacturing? Our Chief Change Officer Adrian Stalham cut through the noise in City AM about what this means for the UK’s automotive future. Key insights from Adrian: 🔶 Tax environment challenges: "As synergies are reviewed, the UK manufacturing industry will be in the crosshairs as recent tax changes make us an unfavourable and expensive option compared to other countries." 🔶 Industry transformation ahead: The UK automotive sector faces potential disruption, with Adrian predicting "a possible 20 per cent shrinkage in size due to automation and competitive pressures over the next five years."  🔶 Economic headwinds: With changing corporation tax rates across Europe and increasing national insurance costs, Adrian notes that "eyes will start to look elsewhere" —raising questions about the long-term sustainability of existing manufacturing incentives. The talks between Honda and Nissan reflect wider industry consolidation as automotive players tackle challenges from surging Chinese EV makers and evolving regulations. This seismic shift demands careful consideration of how the UK positions itself in an increasingly competitive global market. https://lnkd.in/eH5jWhzA #Automotive #Manufacturing #UKJobs #IndustryTransformation #MergersAndAcquisitions #Consulting

  • Delighted to see our Silver win at the UK Employee Experience Awards earlier this year featured in Customer Experience Magazine (CXM) today. And it seems like perfect timing as last night we celebrated our incredible team at our Christmas party! The article really captures what makes S&S special - our unrelenting focus on putting people first. From our K2 Academy to our mission of inspiring and developing the future of work, everything we do starts with our people. As our Head of Talent, Steve Neary, says in the piece: "An organisation is a collective of people who have agreed to work together on a common objective." Yesterday epitomised this spirit as we spent the day reflecting on our journey, planning for an exciting 2025, and enjoying some festive Secret Santa fun before taking to the River Thames for our Christmas celebrations. Looking around at our amazing team on that boat was a great reminder of exactly why we won this award - because every single person at S&S is committed to challenging the status quo and bringing their best selves to work every day. Proud to share our story and even prouder of the team that made it possible 🧡 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/ePKZkcTR #FutureOfWork #PeopleFirst #BusinessTransformation #Team

  • In today's dynamic business environment, building the right teams is critical for transformation success. That's why we've partnered with Carnegie Mellon University to decode the science of collective intelligence. The result is MissionHub.ai—our proprietary platform that's revolutionising how organisations build and optimise teams. Our research shows the optimal team needs the ‘Goldilocks’ level of diversity—not too similar (leading to consensus-based decisions), not too different (creating high-challenge environments). MissionHub.ai analyses millions of potential combinations to find this sweet spot, ensuring teams are perfectly balanced for your specific mission. • At Sullivan & Stanley, our commitment to being a Business for Good means creating positive impact in our communities. Our partnership with Access Sport exemplifies this mission, working together to make inclusion the norm in community sport. 2024 has been an incredible year of collaboration. From our team members running the Half Marathon to raise funds, to hosting Olympic Champion and Access Sport ambassador Greg Searle MBE at our "The Mission is Everything" event, we've seen firsthand how sport can transform lives and communities. Last week, we were honoured to attend Access Sport's 20th Anniversary Gala dinner - a powerful reminder of their two decades of life-changing work. The evening, hosted by Mark Foster and Kate Richardson-Walsh OBE, brought together Olympic and Paralympic athletes, community sport clubs and corporate partners united in the mission to make sport accessible to all. We're thrilled that the event raised an impressive £80,000, bringing Access Sport closer to their £100,000 target. We're proud that our partnership goes beyond traditional corporate giving - it's about creating sustainable impact and inspiring positive change. As Julia Wright says, "Together, we can make inclusion the norm in community sport." Want to join us in making a difference? • Sometimes the best insights come from the most candid conversations. That's exactly what happened when Ed Kamm shared the Shell Energy Retail transformation story at our Manchester event. It wasn't a polished case study. It was real, honest, and deeply relatable. Ed kicked off with a truth that resonated across the room: "We had great people, we had great ideas, we knew what we needed to work on, but we weren't capable of delivering. Our operating model was broken." The journey they shared was fascinating: The Starting Point 🔶 Being part of Shell, they had "big consultants" proposing "40-50 million pound projects"  🔶 Projects were "over budget" and "beyond timelines"  🔶 Impact wasn't there—"we kind of lost the customer through that"  🔶 Traditional approaches falling short The Turning Point: When one employee suggested Sullivan & Stanley and mission-based working, introducing the "90-day glass tube" concept—"something small, something manageable, something provable." The Mission-Based Impact 🔶 Teams empowered with clear outcomes  🔶 Right people paired on focused missions  🔶 Cultural transformation emerging  🔶 "The most impactful transformation I've ever been involved with in my career" Harry Eatough then added another layer of insight, showing how theory becomes reality when you have the right approach. The practical examples had everyone nodding in recognition—these are challenges we've all faced. • "The Mission is Everything" isn't just an event title—it's the philosophy behind every successful transformation we've delivered. In November, our Chief Change Officer Adrian Stalham revealed the framework that's revolutionising how organisations deliver change: 🔶 The power of 90 days: Ever noticed how the best transformations have a natural rhythm? Adrian shared how 90-day cycles create this perfect balance of urgency and depth. As one attendee put it, "We've all worked too many times on projects where you have a start, you do some stuff, you meet every week and drive it, but actually you're going after the wrong goal." 🔶 Deep & narrow focus: We dove into why specialised teams often crack challenges that have stumped entire organisations. As Adrian explained, "We go deep and narrow with one team... and in 90 days we can usually get quite a high level of maturity and generate true value." 🔶 Measurable impact: Numbers tell stories, and Adrian demonstrated this through real results proven by success across retailers, legal systems, and more: "We make it truly visible across the organisation... It really does work and the team get behind it."   What made the evening special wasn't just the content—it was the audience recognising a common challenge: traditional operating models are struggling to keep pace with change.     While others talk about change, we're delivering it. Our mission-based working approach combines the best of agile methodologies with deep organisational psychology and practical experience.    Want to learn more about mission-based working?
