We have been blown away by the feedback we have received from our webinar Talking Menopause: For the Education Sector this morning. A big thank you to our amazing guest Helen Tomlinson for joining us and providing amazing insights on menopause in the workplace. It was great to see so many of you taking another step to educate yourselves on menopause to benefit you and your team. If you would like to sign up to receive a copy of the webinar, click this link and we will send this across to you early next week: https://lnkd.in/evMpPbiX Let’s keep banging the drums, normalise menopause and make sure we are creating supportive environments for women across the globe! #menopauseawareness #menopause #menopauseawarenessmonth #staffwellbeing #webinar Julie Liddell

  • As we wrap up another year of delivering courses and workshops across the UK, we want to take a moment to thank all the educators, school leaders and communities who inspire us daily. This season is a time to reflect on the power of wellbeing in education – not just for students but for staff, too. When you and your staff thrive, so do our children and young people. May your Christmas break be filled with joy, rest, and renewal, and may the New Year bring fresh opportunities to thrive and flourish. From all of us at Still Human, we wish you a season of peace, positivity, and purpose. #SeasonsGreetings #EducationWellbeing #WellbeingMatters #StaffWellbeing #StillHuman

As the year comes to an end, we reflect on some initiatives we put in place to make our Trust and schools a better place. One of the main initiatives was partnering with Still Human to support our staff wellbeing and create proactive programmes that ensure our Trust is a great place to work. • The recently published Ofsted Annual Report Dec 2024 shared some promising plans ahead. We’re pleased to see a focus on understanding demographic information to help raise standards for all children, alongside a strong commitment to supporting the most disadvantaged and vulnerable learners. These are important steps toward making education fairer for every child. However, it was concerning to read about the serious challenges providers continue to face, including high staff turnover, incomplete inductions, and a growing reliance on unqualified staff. Many of us in the education sector have had concerns, but it is now documented in the report that the recruitment and retention crisis continues to have a negative impact on children’s learning and wellbeing. At Still Human, we believe the solution starts with creating a culture where staff wellbeing is woven into every policy and initiative at a strategic and operational level. When staff feel supported and valued, they’re more likely to stay — and when staff thrive, so do our children and young people. In his article in The Edword, Simon Hart, Principal at Springwest Academy shares how a culture of kindness is improving staff retention. • We absolutely love delivering our ‘Wellbeing Champion: Leading Staff Wellbeing’ to Trusts as we know that it means big impact. When staff thrive, our children and young people will thrive. Some amazing feedback from the Thomas Deacon Education Trust after our recent bespoke Trust training. “ TDET are really pleased with the Wellbeing Champion course we completed with Still Human. We started the course as a group of people who work for the same trust but didn’t know each other. We left happy and motivated with a shared vision on what to do next. The delivery, pace and relevance of the course were all great and our facilitator tailored her responses to the needs of each individual. We truly benefited from the Wellbeing Champion course, and we’re keen for Still Human to work with our executive team to further develop our staff wellbeing plans.” Head of Human Resources and Organisational Development. Bonus - this training is assured for DfE Senior Mental Health Lead funding - deadline to apply is 31st December! Run run run to claim if you haven’t already!! ❤️

✨ We're excited to introduce TDET's first Wellbeing Champions! ✨ The group attended a two-day wellbeing workshop last week. They took part in lots of activities, as well as beginning to create a TDET Wellbeing Action Plan to support staff across our seven academies and central office. With the guidance of Still Human, specialists in education wellbeing, our new Champions will soon begin promoting initiatives, activities, and resources that enhance mental health and wellbeing. They are also looking forward to networking with other champions and organisations, and being trained to identify and signpost their colleagues to appropriate local and national health and wellbeing support. 💪💚 The Champions’ next step is to develop and share the Wellbeing Action plan across TDET, which we’re very excited about. ✨ Discover more on our website: https://lnkd.in/eagB5UDV #TDETTransformation
