About us

St Paul's Cathedral is a vibrant church, a national treasure and a London icon. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren in the late 17th century, the Cathedral has been the Cathedral Church of the Diocese of London for over 1,400 years. Our building provides a space for reflection, discovery, learning and debate. Each year, we welcome nearly two million people through our doors, to worship, sightsee, and attend a lively programme of concerts, educational events and performing arts. Alongside dedicated clergy and staff, we are sustained by a community of volunteers, who ring our bells, lead our tours, maintain our collections and more. We provide comfort and commemoration through our national services, and stand as an enduring symbol of hope – for those of all faiths and none.

  • Honouring Martin Luther King Jr. This Friday, 6th December, marks 60 years since Martin Luther King Jr. spoke to 4,000 people from the pulpit of St Paul's Cathedral. To commemorate this historic moment, we’re hosting a weekend of special talks, services and sermons exploring the ongoing impact of his teachings and how we can engage in the fight for racial justice today. ✨ Don’t miss a highlight of the weekend: the live premiere of a specially commissioned anthem at Evensong on Sunday, 8th December. Composed by Roderick Williams and written by writer and performer Dr Rommi Smith, this moving piece is inspired by Dr King’s powerful sermon, Three Dimensions of a Complete Life. 🔗 We’d love for you to join us.
