🍃 This short film captures a Splash Project which took teamwork and community spirit to the next level - because without both, it wouldn’t have been possible. 🍃 The GMC June Best Sanctuary Garden based opposite CTCRM, Lympstone, Devon, was built by the military community for the military community. 🍃 While SSAFA the Armed Forces charity - Devon, provided the lion’s share of the funding, topped up with additional funds from RMA - The Royal Marines Charity, the project relied upon the generosity of dozens of volunteers, local businesses, and us. The stats: ☑️ 274 volunteer days ☑️ Four miles of wood (the distance between the GMC and the Splash Projects’ office) ☑️ 14,000 screws ☑️ 3,000 nails ☑️ 30 tonnes of topsoil ☑️ Tonnes of enthusiasm ☑️ Bucket loads of effort ⚒️ Around 50 businesses including building contractors and food suppliers, which donated lunches to the volunteers, threw their weight behind the project. ⚒️ This generous group included Vistry Group, Champion Groundworks and Barclays UK - Exeter. Their donations of time and resources kept costs down for the charities, meaning more could be achieved with the available funds. ⚒️ And employing us to facilitate this technical, large-scale project, meant more bang for the buck: each day, a team of eight project facilitators – a mix of veterans and skilled tradespeople - taught and guided between 20 – 40 volunteers to do the building work. 🥂 Cheers to teamwork! 🥂 #splashprojects #teamwork #legacybuilding #csr #socialimpact #givingback #communityimpact #together #veterans

♣️ ♦️ The leftover timber from a summer project in Italy has been put to good use - in the form of a hideout for teenagers with nowhere else to go and play cards! ♠️ ♥️ When Tim, one of our Project Managers based in Italy, noticed that some local lads were hanging around socialising and playing playing cards outside, the question of what to do with the spare wood became obvious. “The boys would hang out around the apartments because they had nowhere else to go,” explained Tim. “So I suggested the hut to them, and they were so happy they wanted to help build it. “They really appreciated that other people wanted to do something to help them. It’s been good for the whole community.” #teamwork #community #recycling

⁉️ Can you help us find a charity in Mumbai ⁉️ 🇮🇳 We are looking for a charity or not-for-profit organisation (for example, a school or community group) with some outdoor space in need of some site development for a Splash Project in February. 🇮🇳 The location needs to be within 45 minutes of the Central Business District of Belapur, Navi Mumbai. 💛 There is no cost at all to our charity partners! And we work with them to make sure the project we deliver with our business partner gives them exactly what they need! ⚒️ Last month we were in central Mumbai with a business partner building this outdoor seating area for vulnerable children being cared for by the Salvation Army, and it was a huge success. 👇 Watch our short video in the comments for more details about how our work benefits our charity partners. 👇 💛 Please spread the word and share this post! And DM us or email us if you can help! 💥 15 years of creating high performing teams through community impact in three minutes 💥 “We’re enabling communities to feel seen and valued, leaving a lasting impression of happiness, joy and enrichment. I love being part of a company that encourages this year on year.” This comment from Santander Consumer (UK) plc employee, Terri Weale IRMCert doesn’t just sum up this year’s Big Build Splash Project, but all fifteen. Through its Splash Projects – which have benefited thousands of people in-need and value more than £1.2 million – the company has pledged its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, because it knows business can help and should help. 🚀 High-performing teams 🚀 Morality aside, hundreds of the firm’s employees based at its HQ in Redhill, Surrey, have benefited from the learning and development element woven into every Splash Project: ✅ Increasing efficiency in the workplace ✅ Fostering a sense of wellbeing ✅ Leading to enhanced performance in the workplace For their fifteenth anniversary year the team chose Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee School, which supports children aged between two and 19 years old with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties. Over seven days in July around 250 employees (35/day) created a large 9x4 metre outdoor classroom with an indoor section, a large canopy, a bike shed, small stage, sheltered seating for the memorial garden and a sensory fence for the children. 💬 Do you think your team could take on a challenge like this in 2025?! #splashprojects #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #teamdevelopment #teamwork #legacybuilding #csr #socialimpact #givingback #communityimpact #together #experientiallearning

“Splash Projects is all about giving back to others less fortunate in our communities, and Steve is trying to do just this - he's working hard for a good cause.” - Splash Projects’ CEO, Simon Poole This sentiment is why we’re kit sponsors for a boxing tournament this month which, so far, has raised over £20,000 for military charity, Blesma, The Limbless Veterans. Thirty years ago, a good friend of Simon’s lost his leg following a military parachuting accident. Simon was serving alongside Alan “Yorkie” Craven in the Royal Engineers when Yorkie’s parachute failed to open during an exercise in 1994 and he hit the ground after falling 1,500ft. Miraculously, he overcame multiple severe injuries and survived the traumatic ordeal, subsequently dubbed “superman” by the Sun newspaper. UK military charity, Blesma – the Limbless Veterans, has been instrumental in Yorkie's ongoing recovery journey over the last three decades. Mutual friend and former Royal Engineer with the 9 Parachute Squadron, Steve Sutton – who also served with Simon and Yorkie - has organised a fundraising boxing tournament for Blesma, and Splash Projects is sponsoring the initiative, providing his training kit. Steve said: “Blesma gave Yorkie a reason to live his life, rather than to give up on life. “Having been through some difficult years myself, his struggles with mental health resonated and I started thinking about what I could do to give back to others and how I could put a smile on other people’s faces. “And, I can’t express how much doing something for someone else has impacted positively on my own wellbeing.” Full story and fundraising page in the comments 👇 #splashprojects #givingback #veterans #charityappeal #sponsorship

This beautiful shelter for vulnerable young pregnant women being supported by charity Mother's Choice 母親的抉擇 in Hong Kong, was made possible through the foresight of Qube Research & Technologies (QRT). As part of its commitment to empower its staff through experiential learning, the company has now completed two Splash Projects this autumn and we are looking forward to working with two more teams in India and Singapore tomorrow. Louise Liu Director, Finance and Operations, Mother's Choice, said: “A heartfelt thank you to Splash Projects for your outstanding leadership in making the Monty Garden Revitalization Project a reality! “Under your guidance, despite the rain on November 22nd, the QRT team successfully transformed our Garden of Hope into a peaceful haven. “The addition of a pergola, bench tables and chairs has created a nurturing space for our pregnant girls to reflect and find solace during a pivotal time in their lives. “Your expertise, vision and leadership brought this project to life, and we are truly grateful for your unwavering support. “Together, we are building brighter futures!” Tomorrow a total of 35 participants will create a rooftop garden for children with multiple disabilities in Singapore and a sheltered social area for vulnerable girls in Mumbai. We can’t wait to show you the legacy they create. #splashprojects #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #legacybuilding #csr #communityimpact #experientiallearning

Neglect, family breakdowns and losing parents at a young age are some of the reasons which lead to unplanned teenage pregnancies in Hong Kong according to the city’s charity, Mother's Choice 母親的抉擇 Lily Ng, a charity director, explains: “We offer young women a safe loving, non-judgmental space to call home, to support them through whatever choices they make.” Despite the charity’s remarkable impact, the need for its services is growing in the city as sex education among teens continues to be so limited. For more than three decades the charity has supported 54,500+ under 25-year-olds through a crisis pregnancy. Today, as part of Qube Research & Technologies’ commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, 50 employees will learn about real world problem solving, effective teamwork and leadership on a Splash Project in which they will build an outdoor “sanctuary” for the young residents. Lily continues: “This project is so special to us because it is creating a space where the girls can come together.” We hope you enjoy this film, which gives an insight into the work of Mothers’ Choice. #splashprojects #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #legacybuilding #csr #communityimpact #experientiallearning
