Jacqueline A. Hinds MA (HRD) CEIC MCEP is set to dive deep into the detail at #EPGSummit25 on 7 Feb 2025. Given the fact that there are so many factors at play BEFORE talent pitches up at your door; what is within an organisation's ability to control? If you read the majority of #paygap posts at this time of year you'd be forgiven for thinking that: a. Pay gaps are #equalpay issues; and b. Organisations need to 'make the pay gap zero' yesterday! Pay gaps start at birth... Where you're born, who you're born to, your individual characteristics, education, your friends, societal norms and choice (if you're fortunate enough). By the time you start your first day of work so many factors have conspired to bring you to the role you perform. The pay gap is actually the 'Pay Role Gap' and the first step for every organisation must always be to ask if the existing distribution of diverse talent is: - intended (talent attraction, inclusion, effective communication) - inevitable (some roles dominated by a narrow range of diverse talent applying) - moveable (a combination of societal norms, the two factors above and £££) You may not be able to change your stars overnight, but there WILL be meaningful things you can do to move towards yours and your employee's version of fair. Grab yourself an 𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗬𝟮𝟱𝗕𝗜𝗥𝗗 ticket, come along to find out how you can use your finite resources to better attract, develop and retain diverse talent.
