The FTC has announced a new Junk Fees Rule that requires clear disclosure of all mandatory fees for live events. So, what does that look like at your box office? This guide will help you understand how and why to ensure that the pricing at your organization follows best practices around transparency: https://bit.ly/3BxZBAM. “The most important moment in an online transaction - the moment where you need the greatest trust between your organization and your patron - is the moment when they pull out their wallet and make the payment. If that’s the same moment you introduce fees for the first time, and the price you’re asking them to pay increases by 10, 15%, that trust is broken.” - Spektrix co-founder & CEO Michael Nabarro.

Speed up customer service with integrated self-serve kiosks. Our fifth and final (for now) ticketing-focused Breakfast Briefing at Cog Design | B Corp was with the wonderful Nina Primeraki from Spektrix. Nina gave us an excellent tour of their tools, illustrated with lots of real world examples of clever applications of iframes, components and the Spektrix API. She very kindly used almost entirely Cog-based examples (of course because they are all exemplars of innovative, pragmatic thinking) plus one from our friends Supercool. My two big takeaways: 1. how important it is to consider and select the right tools, considering all of the factors – including the resources required to build and maintain it. 2. that actual human beings* use websites to get stuff done (such as buying tickets). The tech is only there to serve that. * a quick shout out to Cog's Alex Gowan-Webster who will be talking on just this subject in his 'Optimising your website for humans' talk at the Arts Marketing Association Digital Marketing Day in November: https://lnkd.in/eQ5eHv7G It was great to see the session so well attended and wonderful to welcome lots of people joining us for the first time. Thanks again to Nina for such a well illustrated and interesting session. ___ Our next Breakfast Briefing is 14th November, with Tamsin Ace Director of East Bank, that incredible new cultural quarter in the Olympic park. Let me know if you want me to add you to our invite list.
