We love games and rockets. We only make one of the two, though 🚀🎮
About us
Space Ape is an award winning mobile game studio in central London and founded in 2012. Since then our five games have been played by over 170m people, generated half a billion in revenue but we're just getting started. We are around 150 employees, from 30 different nationalities and diverse backgrounds united in a mission to make the world's next great game. In 2017 we partnered with Supercell (makers of Clash of Clans etc and part of Tencent) by way of majority acquisition. Our music game, Beatstar, reached #1 download in 24 countries and is the top grossing music game globally. With BILLIONS of song plays and millions of people discovering it each month Beatstar is an important new platform for music discovery with top artists releasing their songs in Beatstar on the same day, or in some cases before, they are dropped on streaming platforms. If country music is more your thing check out Country Star, a recent follow up to Beatstar that might be more your thing. Chrome Valley Customs brings an innovative twist to cater to a large underserved segment of the world's most successful game genre. Within the first two months it became the top grossing car game globally and we're just getting started. Space Ape was voted Best Game Developer, and Beatstar Game of the Year in the 2022 Pocket Gamer Mobile Game Awards in BAFTA London (April 2022). Its game lead Charmie Kim won Best Newcomer at the DEVELOP Awards (July 2022), and it was short listed as one of Google Play User Choice Awards (Dec 2021). Space Ape won Mobile Developer of the Year in the Pocket Gamer Awards (2023).

Fridays at Space Ape Games 🧡 We love Friday food platters and lunchtime games of Street Fighter... and how could we not have Rival Kingdom themed drink cans to say goodbye to our 9 year old game!

ngl, when I listened to the first few episodes of two & a half gamers a year or two ago I was skeptical. I knew of course that 🦩 Matej Lancaric, Jakub Remiar and Felix Braberg were individually brilliant but the format was all a bit too rough around the edges and didn't connect with me at the time. Hundreds of episodes later with some investment into boom mics and production values and a sensor tower subscription and this has become one of my regular listens. It's been great to watch them evolve the show into the ultimate insider's perspective into a side of game development - the frontline of UA, ad monetization, data etc - that is impenetrable to most and easily misunderstood by those who are not exposed to it day to day. So it was an honor to have our latest game subjected to their Brutally Honest analysis in this episode. Props to Space Ape Games UA lead Dmitry Gubanenkov for taking one for the team. Check it out if you're interested in hearing about the marketing strategies and creative approach behind Chrome Valley Customs. The game has grossed over $55m, the team has cranked out thousands of innovative creatives including an amazing partnership with rapper and Pimp My Ride host Xzibit. 📺 Watch on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/dZznAvVS 🎧 Listen on Spotify: https://lnkd.in/diPzxbfT

Matt Dunlop, Elizabeth Turner and I had the pleasure of attending the 2024 Games and Film Degree Show at Middlesex University in London last week. As we run our internship programme at Space Ape, it was amazing to see such eye catching talent, and to experience the excitement and passion from the students who are ready to start their professional careers in the games industry. Thank you for having us Sean Wade! 😁
