    If you are supporting young people who are interested in craft, design and science then tell them about the Future Artists Programme - Creative Cosmos with Leila Dear   Probing the intersections of art, science, and nature, Creative Cosmos   No experience needed—just curiosity and a love for making! Don’t miss a chance to connect with like-minded creatives and unlock new skills 🖌️ in an immersive five-day creative workshop for young artists aged 16-19. Plus it is free and expenses are covered. Read on for more details. Led by Somerset House resident, Leila Dear, The programme invites participants to explore the connections between microcosm and macrocosm through collaborative activities, and self-guided work. Each day unfolds around a theme; Atoms, Flow, Infinity, Body, and Shelter — guiding participants through geometric journeys, exploring tiny particles to the structures we inhabit.   During the 5 days, you will; receive an introduction to Somerset House and Leila Dear’s practice  explore geometric forms and natural phenomena, making connections between art, science, and nature  gain insight into how contemporary artists and traditional artisans have drawn inspiration from the natural world to create their decorative languages  collaborate with likeminded creatives while building structures and creating large-scale artworks   deepen your creative practice and personal expression through cross-disciplinary practices  discover how you could pursue a career as an artist   Each day will follow a set structure with time for rest breaks.   • 🌟 Careers Uncovered: Health and Care – Project Update 🌟 Our project has now delivered nearly 20 different meaningful experiences of health and care careers for young people in South London. These activities range from workplace visits to careers talks, and even a careers fair. 🎉 We now have enough feedback to share an update on how our project is creating impact for young people in South London. We’re delighted that young people have enjoyed learning directly from employers, which is reflected in the stats on their learning. 📊 ✅ 79% of young people rated their experience on our project as “Excellent”.  ✅ 95% rated their learning from professionals as “Good” or “Excellent”. Before the activity, 0 students rated their knowledge of Health and Care careers as “Excellent”. After the activity, we’re happy to report that 58% of students rated their knowledge as “Excellent”, with a further 37% rating their knowledge as “Good”. 100% of students reported that their knowledge of Health and Care careers had increased. 🌟 Our goal is not only to increase awareness of health and care careers but to create meaningful experiences of the world of work. We’re thrilled that the qualitative feedback we’ve received also shows progress is being made on this target. 📈 “I learned a lot about new career types, and different careers through the years.”  “I've always wanted to work in health and care, and this has pushed me more.”  “Health and Care careers are really detailed and sound interesting.” We’re very happy with the early successes of the project, and you can expect further updates soon. However, we are now focused on driving forward more activities before our project ends in March 2025. 🚀 To achieve this, we need the continued support of schools and local business leaders.
