As the SocialB team remembers last night's fireworks display and team outing, we notice that there are many similarities between marketing and organising a team fireworks/bonfire night social. 🔑 Planning is the key to success Just as organising a fireworks display requires meticulous planning to ensure a memorable display, successful marketing campaigns rely on strategic planning, and apparently so do team outings. Sadly, the SocialB team were slightly underprepared last night which resulted in most of the team watching the fireworks display from beyond the gates after the event had reached capacity. Our Head of Digital Delivery, Richard Clarke, was very prepared, getting through the gates into the event and enjoying an amazing view of the fireworks. 📸 You have to capture attention I think everyone has been to at least one boring firework display in their life, they don't compare to those that grab attention with bursts of light, colour, and sound. Marketing campaigns essentially aim to do the exact same thing. By creating eye-catching visuals, intriguing messages, or strong brand statements to make a target audience stop and take notice. ⏳ Building anticipation helps drive engagement The build-up to a fireworks display often creates excitement, last night's display started with lighting a bonfire and then starting with a few smaller rockets as the fireworks got bigger and bigger leading to the finale. Similarly, marketing campaigns build up anticipation through awareness and consideration activities to get audiences excited about a new product/service or message and conversion marketing activities with a harder CTA.
