Today we announce our FY24 full year results, and it’s been another good year for Smiths. This is our 3rd consecutive year of organic revenue growth, and we’re establishing a great track record. We reported organic revenue and operating profit growth, and improved headline operating profit margin as we made good progress against our medium-term financial targets. Looking ahead to FY2025, we expect to make further progress with organic revenue growth of 4-6% and continued margin expansion. It's always great to see our colleagues out in the field sharing knowledge, and the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in Hamburg is no exception. There, our John Crane colleagues Erik van der Wiel and Klingebiel Andreas caught up with Johann Wiebe at the Hydrogen Standard to chat about the business' leading role in the energy transition, and how it leverages its century-old experience for the future challenges the world faces. Thank you Johann for a great interview! Take a look at the video and see our hydrogen stars in action! https://lnkd.in/edcD4Gk6 #ProudToBeSmiths

At Smiths our colleagues work hard to engineer our innovative products which improve the energy efficiency of many our planet's systems. A major benefit of this efficiency is reduced air pollution, which our #SmithsIndia team raised awareness of earlier this month on National Pollution Prevention Day by organising an art competition. Focusing on the themes 'The Impact of Pollution on Our Planet' and 'Ways to Reduce Waste', colleagues and their family members got creative about the effects of air pollution and practical steps we can all take to preserve Earth’s natural resources. Take a look at some of the entries below! #ProudToBeSmiths

Congratulations to Smiths Interconnect on another successful awards evening for their DaVinci High-Speed IC Test Socket! This is our cutting-edge product that plays a vital role in testing the powerful AI chips driving much of the world’s technology advances. After winning at the 2024 Business Awards earlier on in the month, the product has gone on to scoop up 'Emerging Technology of the Year Award' at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Excellence and Innovation Awards, recognising the incredible work our fantastic product team, led by Engineering Director, Frank Zhou has done. Frank and Jo-Anne Morrison were on hand to accept the award at the event in Birmingham, UK. Go team! #ProudToBeSmiths

Last month, colleagues across Smiths Group came together to participate in our annual Training and Development Week. During the week, over 6,600 colleagues attended 60 sessions led by our talented colleagues and guest speakers on the subjects of 'Safety', 'People', 'Product', 'Strategy', and 'Smiths'. Team members had the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the business from the people who know them best - their own colleagues, while being able to attend other sessions on topics such as mental health, and how to stay healthy while sitting at a desk. It was great to see our colleagues come together for a week dedicated to learning and we can't wait for next year! #ProudToBeSmiths

Our ESG colleagues recently took part in a series of sustainability workshops hosted by one of our partner universities, the University of Exeter. Throughout the day, Christian Boothby, Ben, MacDonald FCMA and Lucy Glover attended workshops exploring ways to align on critical sustainability themes including how to harness data and AI to address climate challenges, evaluating the environmental impacts of our products and systems to drive better decisions, circularity, and biodiversity. Our partnership opens new doors for collaboration, combining the university’s cutting-edge research with our practical expertise. Together, we can explore impactful solutions to address pressing environmental challenges and create a shared vision for a more sustainable future. A huge thank you to Alex Huke and his team for the warm welcome. We look forward to working together towards a sustainable future. #ProudToBeSmiths

Our Group VP Sustainability, ESG & Indirect Procurement, Ben, MacDonald FCMA spent a morning away from his desk last week to present to the fourth-year engineering undergraduate students at his alma mater - Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge. His presentation covered the impact of ESG regulations on operations and strategy, while highlighting Smiths own product innovation and sustainability roadmap in a fast-changing world. Ben said: "Listening the questions in what was an interactive session I was struck with how well informed and passionate the next cohort of engineers were around sustainable design principles and systems level thinking." A huge thank you to Associate Professor Mukesh Kumar Head of Industrial Resilience and the Cambridge IFM for the opportunity, and we hope we will see some of those students as future Smiths colleagues! #ProudToBeSmiths

One of the Smiths Group Foundation’s first grant-recipients, Palace4Life recently held a workshop session at our Hemel Hempstead Smiths Detection site, teaching 15 local students about the Cybersecurity profession. Palace4Life provides career support for young people aged 16-25 guiding them towards positive pathways in education, training and employment. The session allowed students to gain an in-depth understanding of the Cybersecurity profession. It also served as a platform to receive practical career advice from some of our Cybersecurity experts, Ilya Goldberg, Richard Tee, and Skye Piper who joined in on the day, holding sessions on what it’s like to work in cybersecurity at Smiths, career stories, and sharing career hints and tips in the field. #ProudToBeSmiths
