Synopsis Considering ethics, explainability, and the auditability of AI, there must be an organisational change or shift that enables myths to be busted and the human in the loop to be perceived as having a vital role. Human roles are only compromised if financial institutions don’t keep pace. The industry must augment AI’s role, and the technology can become a source of input for the human, but bias must be managed, and teams must continue to be sensitive to data. Our Head of Academic Engagement, Magdalena Getler, will be speaking at the event, which will take place on November 20th, from 09:30 to 14:30, at the Turing offices (British Library, London). This session is part of the Turing Novel Data Linkages for Health and Wellbeing initiative and will feature industry leaders from Garmin, Ocado Group NatWest, University of Leeds and King's College London discussing the balance between leveraging #privatedata and maintaining #privacy. Do you have buzzword fatigue? At Open Banking Expo 2024 in London, we asked our attendees a question we've been asking many people over the last year. 'What is the most overused buzzword in the financial services industry right now?' We got a lot of varied and interesting answers this time around! Points raised included the overuse of terms like "speed and efficiency," "innovation," "engagement," and the abundance of acronyms like JROC and VRP.
