About us
Campaigning is vital to a healthy society. We help campaigners to thrive. In a free and hopeful society, people need to know they have the power to make a difference: that they are able to envisage change and can push for that change to happen. For nearly two decades, we have helped all sorts of individuals, causes and charities to find their power as changemakers – as campaigners.

Leaders from some of Britain's most respected charities have come together to share an ambitious vision for change. The essays, written by members of the Charity Reform Group, make a compelling case for reimagining how charities could work with government and businesses to address society's most pressing challenges. Their message challenges current perceptions of charities as simply service providers. Instead, they demonstrate how charities are uniquely positioned, as trusted partners and agents of transformational change, to bring deep expertise, community connections, and evidence-based solutions to the table. Yet this potential is often constrained by misconceptions and external limitations. These essays show what could be achieved if we removed these barriers and built new partnerships across sectors based on a fresh understanding of what charities do and the value they generate. The timing couldn't be more crucial. As we face unprecedented social challenges, from the cost-of-living crisis to climate change, we need every sector working to its full potential. This collection offers a practical roadmap for how government, businesses, and charities can work together more effectively. It's an invitation to all sectors to build better understanding, forge more meaningful partnerships, and collaborate on solutions that could transform our society. Sheila McKechnie Foundation reposted this
Great to be at the launch of the #Charity Reform Group event yesterday organised by the Shelia McKechnie Foundation. As a young lawyer it was a privilege to meet and work with Shelia McKechnie when she was the CEO of Shelter, quite some time ago now. The essays are really inspiring and thought provoking including: ➡️Benaifer Bhandari, CEO of @Hopscotch Women’s Centre, comment in her essay that: ‘We are the fourth emergency service’. ➡️Mark Russell 🇺🇦’s outline of The Children's Society brilliant win on reducing costs of school uniforms. ➡️ Susan Daniels, CEO of National Deaf Children's Society comment that: ‘We need to be simultaneously ally and antagonist; collaborator and thorn in the side; cheerleader and critic’ And much more. Do read these fab essays. #charities #reform # collaboration # campaigning # commissioning
