Are energy salaries up to standard? The energy market has been one of the fastest growing for a lot of years now as world governments combat climate change. Salaries in so many industries struggle to keep up with inflation, causing many good workers to transition from their roles. A lot of professionals with transferable skills have transitioned to the energy industry due to many reasons, but is salary one of them? There is investments in the billions to build more and more projects and this is growing year on year. But are the salaries reflective of the vitality of the jobs on offer and are they attractive enough to tempt experienced professionals away from other industries towards renewables? What are your thoughts?

Ice Cream 🤝 Renewable Energy Mackies, one of the UK's largest Ice Cream distributors has a surprisingly impressive renewable energy operation. Investing more than £6.5 Million into it's infrastructure in order to power their business. The diversified renewable energy portfolio on the family farm includes four wind turbines, a bio-mass energy plant, a 10-acre solar farm and a low-carbon refrigeration system to reduce the energy required in making its ice cream. Last financial year – from June 2023 to May 2024 – Mackie’s of Scotland generated more than 10 million kWh of green energy, using it to produce its ice cream and chocolate products and exporting any excess to the national grid. Making use of just a quarter of the total generated, the business exported 7.5 million kWh back to the national grid – the equivalent of powering the electricity required on average for 41,000 homes for one month – contributing to Scotland’s national drive towards sustainability. With companies like Mackies championing their own sustainability drive, should more businesses follow suit & take their sustainable efforts into their own hands?
