We are celebrating the educational achievement and contributions of Matthew and Troy, as they become the latest to obtain their mechanical engineering #HNC as part of STL’s ongoing commitment to higher level #technical education. Both are now continuing their journey, having started their study at #HND level. Well done both 👏 👏

We are delighted to announce the expansion of our historic #apprenticeship scheme, with the addition of 3 new #toolmaking apprentices. As we celebrate 125 years in business in 2024, we are also celebrating over three decades of developing our own home grown #engineers. The 2024 summer intake mirrors that of 2023, with individuals working towards a Toolmaking pathway and specialised training provided by long standing apprenticeship training partner MIDLAND GROUP TRAINING SERVICES LIMITED (MGTS). STL has decades of experience manufacturing #Fuse #Elements and pioneered SilCu – bonded Silver and Copper – with a Danish customer back in the 1990s. The fuse will stay for years, carrying its rated current but instantaneously burst saving vital equipment or lives when needed. High Speed Fuse Elements are typically made of bonded Silver and Copper. Silver is used for its excellent conductivity and because it does not oxidise and deteriorate with age. This ensures that its’ resistance is remarkedly consistent, but minimised to the key area only to save cost with Copper
