Let's talk about die-lock screws for this week's Tech Tip Tuesday! For proper setup on rotary tablet presses, die-lock screws are a very critical component. Some common design types of die-lock screws are the conical, Maxi-lock, and extended tip, with conical being the most common. Other factors to consider when selecting the proper die-lock screw for your tablet press are orientation, support, and holding power. Finally, it is important to understand the proper seating torque of your press, as each manufacture as a different recommended seating torque to prevent under or over torquing.
