Launch of Automated Analytics Code of Practice at the Houses of Parliament On December 11th, 2024, our Alice Ingram had the privilege of attending the launch of Automated Analytics' Code of Practice for the Implementation of Artificial Intelligence by UK Businesses. The event was held at the iconic Houses of Parliament in Westminster, hosted by Sally Jameson MP in the Terrace Pavilion. The room was filled with dignitaries, MPs, and business leaders from both the UK and the US. The focus of the event was on growth and the digital future, highlighting AI opportunities and action plans. The Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones, emphasized the importance of companies like Automated Analytics, which has over 5,000 clients globally and has it’s global base in Doncaster. She pointed out the barriers to AI adoption in the UK and the need for a more supportive environment. Mark Taylor, CEO and founder of Automated Analytics, described the current era as the new Industrial Revolution. Despite operating for over ten years, the tech is still seen as innovative by many. Their technology can analyse 10,000 calls in a minute with 90% accuracy, showcasing the power of AI. The event also featured insights from Google Deep Mind’s Senior Software Engineer Peter Danenberg who urged us all to consider how we can govern something that is ‘magical’ and emerging at such pace. He stressed the importance of getting involved at the training stage to ensure ethical compliance. Clients like Mark Beaven, Sales and Marketing Director at TFP fertility clinics, and Richard Young, Head of People at Active Care Group. They shared how AI has transformed their operations, from understanding customer interactions to streamlining recruitment processes. Lord Kulveer Ranger, part of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on AI, discussed the need for the UK to find a balanced approach to AI regulation, learning from both the EU and the US. He encouraged industry leaders to be the voice of AI innovation and to focus on the opportunities rather than the fears associated with AI. The event concluded with remarks from Dan Fell of the Doncaster Chamber and Damien Allen, Chief Executive of Doncaster Local Authority, who both expressed pride in Doncaster's role as a centre of excellence for AI and digital technology. Overall, the launch of the Code of Practice was a significant step forward in promoting ethical AI implementation and fostering growth in the digital sector.
