The Royal Economic Society purpose is to promote the study of economic science. With over 4,000 members worldwide, we are one of the oldest economic associations in the world. Founded in 1890 we received our Royal Charter in 1902. The Royal Economic Society is a registered charity and produces two peer-reviewed journals The Economic Journal and The Econometric Journal. We host an annual conference providing a forum for research, debate and networking. We also provide resources for economists and support for education and the training of students, teachers and researchers. We are also focused on improving the public understanding of economics through engagement with schools and the wider public.

A FEW DAYS LEFT TO APPLY - We are pleased to announce that the 2025 Easter School will again be hosted by the University of Bristol and will be an in-person event taking place from Monday 7 April to Wednesday 9 April 2025. This year's theme is 'Environmental Economics: Macro and Micro Perspectives'. The deadline for applications is 23 December 2024 at 17:00. Participants can look forward to keynote lectures from: · John Hassler (Stockholm University and IIES) on the Macroeconomics of Climate Change · Mathias Reynaert (Toulouse School of Economics) on Environmental Economics and Empirical IO The school consists of guest lectures, presentations by participants and policy sessions over three days along with a social element to allow for networking. REF 2029 encourages suitably qualified applicants from all backgrounds to apply and they are keen to hear from individuals who can bring unique perspectives to the panels, including experiences beyond academia and those with an understanding of diverse research practices, outputs, impacts and engagement practice. It is particularly targeted at individuals with a strong interest in education and teaching. It will explore key topics like: - Evidencing teaching impact in economics. - Leadership within departments and universities. - Securing funding for education projects. - Applications for Senior/Principal Teaching Fellow and National Teaching Fellowships. With sessions led by expert economics educators, this is a chance to gain actionable insights, strengthen and create networks and collaborations, and advance your career. Places will be limited, so at this stage we are requesting that interested individuals submit an expression of interest (deadline 23rd Jan 2025).
