In the last couple of months we have been awarded Excellence in Reward & Recognition, at the HR in Hospitality, Highly Commended in Best Overall People Appreciation Strategy at the Reward Gateway, and Bovey Castle hotel won Large Hotel of the Year in the South West Tourism Excellence award. The BBC recently published its Top 100 Women list, highlighting incredible female talent. It made me think about our portfolio and the businesses we’ve invested in that are led by inspirational women. Sabrina Del Prete of Kore Labs and Daniela Amodei of Anthropic are two great examples. Yet with only 16.3 per cent of high-growth tech companies led by women (according to Beauhurst) and just 8.96 per cent of equity investment going to female-led businesses since 2013, increasing diversity in the tech sector is something that needs to be addressed. Change is happening, but it feels slow. In the recent One to Win pitch competition hosted by TechWM, we were delighted to see female founders take centre stage. This groundbreaking competition showcased some of the incredible talent and innovation that is making the West Midlands tech scene so exciting. Rigby Group plc and SCC were delighted to back One to Win, which provided a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to raise their profile and secure support to grow. Congratulations to Rachel Curtis, winner of One to Win, for her exceptional work with Inicio AI and to runners-up Natalie Wadley of ChangeMaker3D Ltd and Elliot Parnham of Skyfarer® LTD. This carbon-neutral mansion, with its splendid bedrooms, living room, and entertainment and wellness areas, is a pioneering project. It is the UK's first single private residence to achieve the WELL Certification, meeting sustainability goals alongside innovation. Every corner is thoughtfully designed with sincere attention to detail and sustainability. The residence has smart tech such as ground-source heat pumps and heat recovery and air purification systems.
