The new record arrives only a few days after the previous high of 22.4GW, which was set on Sunday evening 📈 The news comes on the day that the Government has published its latest Energy Trends report, which details new electricity generation statistics covering the third quarter of this year (July to September). This shows that renewables have generated over 50% of Britain’s electricity for the last four consecutive quarters for the first time (Q4 2023 to Q3 2024) 📆 For further information read our latest press release with comment from RenewableUK's CEO Dan McGrail 👇 https://lnkd.in/dmCZM8DM #onshorewind #offshorewind #record #renewableenergy #cleanelectricity #energysecurity

Earlier this month, the Prime Minister launched the Government’s Plan for Change, within which is a central mission to ‘make Britain a clean energy superpower’. This confirmed the Government’s commitment to achieve at least 95% low carbon energy generation by 2030, informed by National Energy System Operator’s independent advice, as well as to reform planning rules to fast track 150 decisions on major infrastructure by the end of the current Parliament 🛠️ https://lnkd.in/etRqaxZT Against this backdrop of firm Government support, RenewableUK’s latest blog examines the most common criticisms levelled at renewable energy, dispels some popular myths, and outlines why they remain the country’s route to the lowest cost electricity by 2035, with all the system costs included and other options considered ⚡ 👉 https://lnkd.in/em4J8K9e #renewableenergy #nuclear #energysecurity #energybills #mythbusting
