The Invest in Women Taskforce has secured over £250 million of funding to support female entrepreneurs in the UK. Described as an ‘historic milestone’, capital has been committed by Barclays, M&G, the British Business Bank, Morgan Stanley, Visa Foundation, BGF and Aviva to invest in female-founded businesses across the country. The funds will be deployed either directly by these organisations or through a ‘Women backing Women’ fund. A process has been initiated to select a fund manager or managers to deploy the latter. Plan B No, not the rapper (like I even know who that is!), the need to ensure we always have a fall-back option, in life and business. The near breakneck pace of change that we all operate under means business leaders are constantly having to think 'well, what if?'. The c-suite is in dereliction of duty if it isn't always thinking about its own potential 'Betamax vs. VHS' moment (if you know - you know….) as the potential for rapid obsolescence is always nipping at our heels. On a much lower-key, personal level - my planned day out this past Friday was scuppered by a phone call, literally as I headed out the door. Short period of disappointment, but cognisant that I was all set for a day outdoors anyway. So doggy (he's there - top left) and I instigated our own Plan B and I headed out for a lovely day in the forest and enjoyed the stunning late autumn colours before Storm Bert kicked in.

AI God, a large-scale original portrait of Alan Turing, sold for over a million dollars as part of Sotheby’s Digital Art Sale.
