The UK RLN Hackathon starts today! UK Finance is inviting teams of up to five to prototype use cases on the Platform for Innovation created during the UK RLN Experimentation Phase. Developed by R3 and Quant, the platform showcases how the programmability of money can transform value transfer and asset management. Participants from FinTechs, BigTechs, and financial institutions will create solutions for payments on a shared ledger powered by R3’s Corda network. R3’s team will demo a cross-border payments use case, exploring how a cross-jurisdictional component reduces settlement risk, enhances compliance, and improves transparency. With DXC Technology and Coadjute as partners, the event provides advanced tools, APIs, and expert support from R3 and Quant representatives. Last week we experienced two incredible days at the UK Finance RLN Hackathon! We want to extend our gratitude to UK Finance for providing participants with the opportunity to explore the innovative capabilities of the Regulated Liability Network (RLN) during the event. This project would not have been possible without the collaboration of other technology partners: Quant, DXC Technology, and Coadjute. Additionally, congratulations to Kaleido for winning the hackathon! The winning team impressed the judges with their Interop Hub for Cross-ledger Asset Networks and Cash Settlements. Their solution showcased RLN’s ability to facilitate cross-ledger transactions, enabling financial institutions and entities to settle tokenized assets like bonds and funds while managing payments through various forms of money, such as tokenized deposits. A big shout-out to everyone involved, such as the Cross-Corda team for representing R3.
