We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Anna Smith to the position of CEO. Anna will be a familiar face to many through her 30 year career in the non-profit sector, including her most recent position as CEO at Bristol Drugs Project, and formerly at One25. Anna says “I am thrilled to be joining the strong and committed team at Quartet. I have watched the organisation from afar for many years from positions as a leader in the sector in South Gloucestershire and Bristol and as a resident of BANES. I want to bring this experience and my passion for communities and social justice to Quartet, so that we can do more for more people in the West of England. Let’s get going!” The Board and staff are very much looking forward to Anna officially joining the Quartet team on 20th January 2025 and would like to thank Ronnie Brown for his leadership as interim CEO. We’re delighted to be announced as one of the Inaugural Cohort of Tech4Good South West Champions. At Quartet, we’re passionate about building relationships with tech businesses and entrepreneurs who want to drive social change in the West of England, together with Tech4Good South West and other partners. As a local funder, our focus is on the support we give to small, charitable organisations through grants and pro bono support (ProHelp). We’re proud to work with Bristol Energy Cooperative and LOW CARBON GORDANO LIMITED to administer their Megawatt Community Energy Fund, set up in 2017 using profits from their business activity. The fund awards grants of up to £4,000 to small charitable organisations who are taking action on reducing carbon in our atmosphere and making energy more affordable to help reduce fuel poverty. We recently awarded £42,872 in grants on their behalf to 12 important projects across South Gloucestershire, Bristol, North Somerset and Sedgemoor District (Somerset).
