Our Founder and CEO, Sarah Sturmey had the great privilege of attending the Princess of Wales’ annual Carol Service at Westminster Abbey. This year’s service, centered around the theme “how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times of our lives,” brought together 1,600 guests from across the country to celebrate the comfort and light we can bring to those in need. Reflecting on the experience, Sarah shared: “It was an incredibly special event, surrounded by so many people committed to spreading love and hope. It was also a moment to pause and acknowledge those who have supported us during challenging times. I feel truly fortunate to lead a team that has the opportunity to extend a helping hand to young people facing extreme adversity.” #Leadership #Community #RippleEffect

Our Founder and CEO Sarah Sturmey was honoured to attend #RoyalVisit with HRH the Duchess of Edinburgh to talk about why our work with young people leaving care is so important Alongside other charities supported by Cheshire Community Foundation discussions focussed on the challenges charities are facing with funding shortages, rising needs and increased complexity. We shared solutions and reflected on the incredible capacity within charities to respond flexibly, quickly and creatively to meet the needs of communities. PURE INSIGHT 1628 Today has been busy, the office all day and then straight to the hospital to support a parent and child who are currently spending their time on a ward, hoping to be home for Santa. It is one of our busiest times, taking in orders, donations and good will from organisations, volunteers and members of our local communities. This kindness enables us to ensure each young person has a personal hand prepped bag of wrapped presents to open at Christmas and doesn't feel forgotten. It might be busy and at times back breaking but it's worth every minute to see the smile on a young person's face and sparkle in their eyes. To feel seen and valued is what we all deserve 🎄💜

What an inspiring day it’s been. We had the pleasure of bringing together 23 incredible young people from the five local authority areas we serve. It was a fantastic opportunity to talk about the things that have been going well and share what’s working. We also took the time to talk about some of the challenges and gaps were facing and most importantly we explored ideas and solutions on how to make things better and easier for everyone Throughout our discussions important themes emerged including mental health, housing, finances, physical health, SEN/neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ issues, rights & entitlements, relationships, aspirations/EET and the importance of pets. Together we are paving the way forwards by co-creating Top 10 Ideas for Improvement for each of the key themes with our Experts by Experience members
