In 2023, we embarked on an exciting new chapter with the launch of our first management development program – Empowered! This program marked a significant milestone in our commitment to nurturing leadership potential within our business. Empowered 2023 kicked off with seven of our high-potential Club Managers, each bringing their unique energy and ambition to the table. The program was designed to focus on both group and individual growth, blending a variety of developmental approaches. From workshops to mentoring and professional coaching, every element was designed to have an impactful experience for everyone involved. The journey over the past year has been nothing short of incredible. It’s been a time of discovery, reflection, and skill-building for all involved, including those of us fortunate enough to help lead the program, be involved in mentoring or delivering workshops. The program has not only helped shape the leaders of today but also laid the groundwork for the leaders of tomorrow. To the Class of 2023, we owe a huge thank you. You’ve been our “guinea pigs,” embracing this trial program with enthusiasm, resilience, and open minds. Your feedback and involvement has been invaluable in helping us develop Empowered for future cohorts, in fact Empowered 2024 is well under way. A Grand Finale with the Royal Marine Commandos 🪖😀 To mark the conclusion of the program, we "treated" our team to an unforgettable experience with a once-in-a-lifetime leadership adventure with the Royal Marine Commandos. This grand finale was packed with challenges that pushed limits, fostered deeper bonds, and offered profound leadership insights that everyone has taken away. But it wasn’t just about learning—it was about creating lasting memories. From navigating tough terrains to working together as a unit in close-quarter combat, the experience reinforced the principles of resilience, adaptability, and teamwork—qualities that will serve our leaders well on their ongoing journey of growth. The completion of Empowered is not the end—it’s the beginning of a continuous development journey. The lessons learned and the relationships built during this program will undoubtedly shape our participants’ careers for years to come. We’re excited to carry the momentum forward, building on this foundation to make Empowered an even greater success in the years ahead. Here’s to the Class of 2023 and all those who made Empowered possible. Together, we’re demonstrating what leadership means and empowering each other and the business to achieve greatness.

It’s been just over a month since launching our padel courts at Powerleague Shoreditch, and the response has been phenomenal. It's been fantastic to see our community embracing the sport with such enthusiasm. To keep up with the growing demand, we're pleased to announce that we'll be adding a third court at our Shoreditch location in the coming weeks. This expansion will allow even more players to experience and enjoy padel in London. We’ll share further updates in the coming weeks and let you know as soon as you can book the third court via the Playtomic app. We look forward to seeing you on the court soon.

Today marks a significant milestone as Powerplay joins forces with Powerleague. This move allows us to combine the strengths of both brands, giving our customers access to a wider range of locations and sports such as Netball & Padel. Additionally, Powerplay customers will benefit from access to the Powerleague website & app along with all the features it has to offer, such as the Transfer Market, Split payments & a smoother, quicker sign up journey. The combined resources will also facilitate a wider range of local and national tournaments, offering increased opportunities for skill development and competitive play. We are excited about the future and the opportunities this 'joining of forces' unlocks.

Introducing Powerleague Stoke Excel! Earlier this week, we welcomed our partners at The Excel Academy secondary school, The Lord Mayor Lyn Sharpe and the local football community, to celebrate the official opening of our 43rd Powerleague club, Stoke Excel. As well as the formal ribbon cutting, the event featured free coaching sessions for pupils from the school, a EURO tournament, walking football tournament, free pitch use for the community and complimentary food and drink. The club, our second in the city, has benefited from £750,000 of investment and boasts eight new 5-a-side pitches and a full-size FA-accredited 3G surface which can be converted into 4 7-a-side pitches (3G pitch opening soon). It also features a swanky new clubhouse with safe and accessible changing facilities plus spaces to host our famous kids’ parties.
