Our focus is on three core values: *Candidate first* – We ensure our candidates are treated as they should be, with respect and care. We work to find those candidates outside our industry, that will bring diversity and invaluable experience from other industries to help our clients excel. *Partnership over transaction* – We work with our clients as partners, looking at their talent needs through a strategic framework, to truly understand what they’re looking for and how it fits into the future success of the organisation. We work to ensure both candidates and clients receive a transparent journey through the recruitment process. Our purpose led, tech approach removes the transactional nature, whilst maintaining the human touch. We were delighted to welcome Dan Maisey (Founder of Peak 72) to campus today. Dan gave a really insightful presentation that covered his own career journey, an overview of the sports industry (including all the different types of commercial roles), and plenty of fascinating observations from his "Talent Talks" podcast. Dan also provided a number of tips for LBS Sports Business Club members who are trying to break into the industry: 1. Network - The industry is a network based industry. Don't be afraid to approach those in companies you are interested in as the worst they can do is not reply. 2. Be specific - The more specific you are with a request, the more likely it is you'll get a response. 3. Do the work - If you don't do the work, you'll get quickly found out at interview. And even if you get the job, the likelihood is that you won't enjoy it. Really think about what you what, understand the opportunity, and then apply. 4. Value - Everyone has value, but not everyone can articulate it. Think about how you can add value to an organisation and how you can communicate that in a succinct way. 5. Be confident - It's not always easy so remember to stay positive and back yourself. Massive thanks to Dan for sharing your insights and advice. We'll endeavour to stay CURIOUS!
