  • HMRC has issued a warning to self-assessment tax return customers to stay alert for scams ahead of the online filing deadline on the 31st of January 2025. Fraudsters have been targeting individuals with fake tax refund offers and demands for payment to steal personal and banking details. Key tips to avoid scams include: 🔹Never share personal or financial information with unknown contacts. 🔹 HMRC will NEVER request personal information via text or leave threatening voicemails. 🔹 Always check ‘HMRC scams advice’ on GOV.UK for guidance. If you encounter any suspicious activity from suspected fraudsters, report phishing emails to [email protected] and scam texts to 60599. Staying vigilant is critical to protecting your business from financial risk and potential data breaches. Contact us today and let our team of professionals handle your self-assessment tax return. #SelfAssessment #TaxAdviceNorthEast #TaxesNorthEast

  • We’ve been visited by the Ghost of Christmas Past... 👻✨ At the start of December, the One Two One team worked their magic to create a Christmas window fuelled by pure nostalgia for the bodacious ‘80s for the Seaton Delaval Christmas Window Competition! Complete with Care Bears, classic games consoles, and even the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, we had a cracking time putting this dazzling display together. 🎮📼 As always, it’s our pleasure to bring some festive cheer to Astley Road! 🎁🌟

  • HMRC’s updated Advisory Fuel Rates (AFRs) for company vehicles came into effect on the 1st of December 2024. The updated AFRs include changes to the pence per mile (ppm) rates. New rates based on fuel type include: 🔹 Petrol: Ranges from 12p to 23ppm. 🔹 Diesel: Ranges from 11p to 17ppm. 🔹 LPG: Ranges from 11 to 21ppm. 🔹 Electric: The electric-only rate (Advisory Electric Rate) is 7ppm. Rates vary by engine size and should be used to ensure fair reimbursement for fuel costs. Failure to use the correct AFRs could lead to tax complications, so it’s essential to stay informed and apply the appropriate rates. Contact our team today for support in staying compliant with AFRs. #AdvisoryFuelRates #TaxAdviceNorthEast #TaxesNorthEast

  • Are you planning on buying your employees Christmas gifts? 🎁 The festive season is the perfect time to show appreciation to your team for their hard work with thoughtful gifts. But before you put your Santa hat on, it’s important to understand the tax implications that come with spreading festive cheer in the office. Employee gifts can be taxable, depending on the type and value of what you’re giving. To ensure your generosity doesn’t come with unexpected surprises, here’s what you need to know before you start planning: 🔹 Gifts over £50 must be reported to HMRC with a P11D form or a PSA. 🔹 Cash bonuses will be taxable as earnings and should be added to the payroll for December. 🔹 Vouchers must be reported on a P11D form and Class 1 NI will be deducted through payroll. 🔹 Parties that exceed £150 per head are taxable. At One Two One, we can help to guide you through the season’s financial complexities, ensuring your gifts, parties, and payroll are fully compliant. Get in touch with a member of our team today and let us handle the paperwork so you can focus on celebrating! #TaxAdviceNorthEast #BusinessTaxNorthEast #EmployerTaxNorthEast
