🌟 Exciting News! 🌟   We are delighted to share that NIMO (Northern Ireland Maritime Organisation) has been awarded £100,000 in funding through the UK Department for Transport's Maritime Cluster Development Fund!   NIMO represents a powerful collaboration of 55 companies and organisations, united by a shared vision to grow Northern Ireland's Maritime and Offshore sectors. Together, we are driving local economic expansion and unlocking new opportunities for growth in these dynamic industries.   This significant investment will empower the cluster to further realise its ambitions, supporting innovation and progress in the years ahead.   A huge thank you to the UK Department for Transport for recognising the potential of our collective vision, and to Maritime UK for their unwavering support to regional development. Thank you to Tom W. for bringing Northern Ireland to Liverpool for an evening onboard the HMS Prince of Wales. With the proliferation of telecommunications & offshore renewables, protecting critical subsea infrastructure is an area we cannot ignore and the Royal Navy plays a vital role in safeguarding this environment. It is just one of the many important functions the Navy carries out & it was truly inspiring to meet so many officers yesterday! Wrapping up 2024, thank you to everyone who joined us last week for our quarterly NIMO meeting and end of year networking event! It was an interesting and informative day, and we are thankful to NIMO member A&L Goodbody LLP for hosting the event. We were delighted to hear from Paul Parry of Port Training Services about starting a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Port Operations, from Belfast Metropolitan College about the development of marine skills courses, from Jack O'Shaughnessy about the Maritime Foam Transition Regulations coming into force in 2025, from Peter Donnelly of Invest Northern Ireland about funding opportunities, and from Judith Webb of the Maritime Belfast Trust who told us all about the exciting plans to develop our waterfront! We are also very pleased to welcome a number of new members and to hear about the work they are doing. So thank you Ruairí Gallagher of FJORDSTRONG and Ian Luney of Foyle Port! We have come a long way since our official launch in April 2024, and that is down to the involvement and support from our members - so thank you to every one that has been a part of Northern Ireland Maritime & Offshore so far.
