  • As of 26th October 2024, employers are now legally responsible to prevent the sexual harassment of their workers and must take reasonable steps to prevent it both within their workforce and for third parties. The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) have updates their Sexual harassment and harassment at work: technical guidance and set out eight practical steps to highlight the type of action an employer could take to prevent and deal with sexual harassment in the workplace: 1. Develop an effective anti-harassment policy 2. Engage staff to understand where any potential issues lie and whether the steps are working 3. Assess and take steps to reduce risk in your workplace 4. Use a reporting system that allows workers to raise an issue 5. Workers, including managers, and senior staff should receive regular training 6. When a complaint is made, take steps immediately to resolve the complaint 7. Take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment from third parties 8. Log the steps you have taken and continue to review their effectiveness We have developed a suite of resources alongside training for employees aligned to this new legislation to keep your organisations safe. Today is International Men's Day which celebrates worldwide the positive value men bring to the world, their families and communities. The 2024 theme, "Positive Male Role Models," highlights the importance of fostering open conversations about men's mental health and creating supportive environments where men can thrive. Men on average die 4-5 years before women and it is really important to raise awareness of men's health issues such as suicide, mental health and prostate and testicular cancer. I have pulled together some key stats and information relating to men's health as well as some fantastic organisations who are supporting and championing mens health, read more below ⬇️ and please do let me know if you would like a copy of these slides!

  • Organisations and teams will always go through change and challenging times and in these situations it can be helpful to have some external support to guide you through. We recently worked with a leadership team who were going through some transition and we helped by bringing the team together, getting them to reflect on what they needed, what their key challenges were and map out a way forward! As always we are grateful for the feedback and glad we could play a small part in your journey #TestimonialTuesday

  • A couple of months old now, but sharing the latest Deloitte Research on Mental Health and Employers, which is the 4th edition of this research. This research shows that the cost of poor mental health to UK employers is now 8% lower than in 2021 suggestions we are starting to make progress to the lives and wellbeing of our teams and colleagues. This should be celebrated, but there is still a lot to do to keep this momentum going and continue to invest in recognising what is impacting employee mental health and what we can do as organisations to continue to positively impact this. There is a real focus in this research on the link between the mental health of children and young people and the influence on working parents and this is where organisations can play a key part in supporting these individuals through flexibility, providing additional support and creating a culture where parents can talk about these challenges. • Did you know that over 80,000 people were made redundant in June, July and August of this year? The impact of redundancy is significant and can impact individuals wellbeing, identity, confidence and sense of purpose and as such having the right support throughout this process is critical to help people move on in the right way. We have been working with those that have been made redundant for over 20 years and our support is much broader than helping with CV and interviews. We pride ourselves on the personal help and guidance that we offer these people in understanding their emotional reaction and then what is the right next step for them and how to get there. If you are an organisation that wants to support those leaving your organisation, you can find out more here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/exAVAWuh or please do just us an email for a chat on [email protected]
