About us
New College Durham Academies Trust is a multi-academy trust that currently comprises of three large Academies: Consett Academy, North Durham Academy and Wellfield School. NCDAT was set up as a non-profit charity in 2011, over subsequent years the Trust has developed its support infrastructure to ensure that our Academies have a strong basis on which to deliver high quality education to the young people they serve.

After a few weeks of hard work, our Castleside Construction Team headed back to their Early Years Unit to check on the progress! They were thrilled with how amazing the room looks and enjoyed their sneak peek with Andrew Hastings from Jim Hastings Ltd and thanked him for bringing their plans to life! Thank you to all of our volunteers, staff and Jim Hastings Ltd for all of their hard work getting our brand new early years unit ready to go! As part of Beamish Primary School's sponsorship of the Beamish Valley Heritage 100 walk, they are encouraging their community to take on a walking challenge around the route. Headteacher Karen Telfer said 'As a community-centred school, we are passionate about encouraging families to step outdoors, explore their surroundings, and learn about the history that shaped our region. Last week we started off the new academic year with an inspiring conference for all 7 of our schools within our MAT! It was a fantastic day filled with motivational talks, insightful HR discussions on how to bring out the best in our teams, and an uplifting award ceremony to honour staff members nominated by their colleagues.
